16" the first day of spring POV

Finally got some nice fresh snow so the new prototype Worth Magics could go hard in da paint on the home court. Hope you like. First time I've put together a POV so feel free to flame my tits off if it sucks. Warning: There is no park skiing in this edit.

That chairlift was not running until later so you're right, it was totally empty.

Actually there was the biggest crowd of people I've ever seen on a weekday there. Shit was crazy, Joeys were blowing up everywhere haha

Editing looked alright to me.Great snow.

Anyone else prefer skiing powder on skinnier skis? I have always preferred skiing powder on skis 95mm and skinnier for some reason.

I broke my pivots on my Opus, so I've been riding k2 domains the last two weeks. I gotta say, I thought I was like you...meaning, sort of preferred a slightly narrower ski, but I realized that I'm not. I think between 110-115 is a perfect width pow ski. I like them a little stiffer though than the stereotypical floppy pow ski. Also really digging traditional camber underfoot with a little bit rocker tip and tail, but not a lot.

Yeah it's def the fisheye. Magic is pretty freakin' steep. To put it into perspective, follow the link below- that first run under the chair is the comp line they used for the Freeride Tour and it's pretty burly. The pow does make Black Magic look like a putting green though. Not every day you get to say that!

Well that's almost exactly what the skis I'm on are. Regular 26m sidecut, ~4mm of camber, double carbon layup for more snap, decent tip splay without being too abrupt, slight tail rocker, and a pointy shark nose to bitchslap chop and mank. I'd tell you how much I'm loving them but you can probably tell. They are hands down my favorite ski. HUGE sweet spot, very fast and slashy and quick as fuck in everything. It's exactly what we were trying to make when we sat down to come up with it and I'm so fkn stoked to have been a part of it.

They looked really fun, and snappy was exactly what I was thinking watching the turns you were making. Honestly, I won't ever personally buy a ski under 110 again I don't think. I have skied my Opus's all season in every condition imaginable (Loveland) and haven't ever felt held back.

Props to you for designing the boards, and cool edit. I went to Magic's site because I was curious about it and it looks like a pretty kick ass lil' EC resort with quite a bit of vertical for the region.

Well no, and yes haha...  The guys at Worth asked myself and a few others to help them design a ski that would be perfect for places like Magic, MRG and Jay- Rocky, tight, steep and variable snowpack.  I certainly didn't design it myself though, that was totally a team discussion.  Except for the topsheets- those I designed.  There was a thread in M&A about that actually when I was having trouble getting the resolution I needed for a topo relief that large.

No.

I like to ski basically as fast as possible and slash, slarve, and air out as opposed to making traditional powder turns. fat skis = skiing fast, especially in mellower areas.

Agreed, but there is a happy medium. I felt like my whitedot redeemers were just too fat, floaty and floppy.

Yeah I saw the thread but really never got to see how the skis turned out or I don't really remember. The top sheet turned out amazing.
