Fun park skis

I rode Masterminds this season and I loved everything about them, I loved how they were soft, light, and poppy. But I hated that I lost an inch of edge and they delamed after a month of use. So I'm looking for a ski that rides really similar to the Masterminds, but can at least last a season of rails. I am open to having a wider ski like the Nordica Soul Riders; but as long as they are light, soft, and poppy.
Any suggestions?

Not too great but better than the masterminds. IF your going for durability the k2 recoils or line chronics are your best bet.

the anthems seem kinda heavy, anyone one know about the Nordica Soul Riders, they seem really nice, and light for their width.

I can't speak for this years, but the 2 before it had problems with sidewall/ core blowouts from taking too may rail hits, basically the base gets cracked as the core tries to push through it, you can look it up if you wish, not fun stuff. I personally think that it only comes from high impacts such as kinked or drop down rails, but you never know. Also they don't have a very thick base to them and the edges were super thin.

As far as suggestions go, I find line to not have the lightest of skis, but offer up some pretty soft sticks, definitely worth looking into them a bit more.

I ski the east, I don't have much use for skis like that, other than pure "fun" skis, but I mainly mean soft. anyways, I am right now looking at the:
-Armada T-halls
-Line Chronic
-K2 Domain
- And maybe Nordica Soul Rider because they seem like a lot of fun.

I've owned t-halls and I loved them, but maybe my other choices are better.

Armada halos, or t halls, both light poppy, fun skis, but if you plan on skiing anywhere but the park get the halo, the little bit of rocker def helps when shit gets shitty, my friend skis the thall and it just sinks when pow is anywhere

Atomic Punx, K2 Domain, Line Traveling Circus. Don't get Chronics or Recoils if you want soft skis.

Honestly the weight differences are very small.

Right now, I have 182 halos, that I bought because of my masterminds breaking. I don't like them that much, I find them too stiff, and the rocker is too shallow. I just don't find them that fun. Also due to me being 5'8, I think I got a size too big.

But right now, I'm most likely going with the 174 k2 domains next season, or I will use my warrantied Masterminds. I'm not inclined to get atomic punx because of their changes next season.
And by the way, I ski all park, all day, and pretty much no jumps.

I'm 5'8/9, I've been riding 174 Domains for the last few days. It is really fun but you do need to consider they feel a lot different from a cambered ski, you need to pop differently etc, takes some getting used to. I had some 169s and really didn't like them but now I'm on the 174 I enjoy them a lot more.

I know you have a respectable ski history and probably know how to take care of your skis, so how do you feel about the extruded base on the Domains? The skis really interest me but the base is kind of a deal breaker...

honestly, I've only been on the new ones a few days so far and they feel fine speed wise, conditions aren't that slow at the moment though so it's hard to tell. I ran a quick coat of wax over them when I got them to clean the base but the base doesn't obviously absorb any. I'm riding the next 7 days and I'll know more after that and try and remember to let you know.

Thanks, I think ill go with that, I've had a few different skis this season, (halos, antigens and masterminds) so I'm pretty familiar with rockered, and semi flat skis. although I haven't used completely flat skis like the domains.

Domains are a pretty good choice--I ride them currently, but the TC skis are even better. I've owned both, and I prefer the Anthems/TCs because they're just so damn poppy and fun. And I put in over two seasons on them before a simultaneous delam on all four tips. Still technically rideable for urban and summer setups; I just don't have bindings for them. Fucking awesome skis. Not sure why Line stopped making them.

i've been riding chronics for the past few weeks and they;re super fun, they;re a bit soft if you really want to ski aggressivly but you can make it work. the trade off is that they are super fun to butter on and just fun in the park all around. definitly playful

NO they are great I put mine through hell and they are still in great condition the only thing is that they are a little bit heavier than other skis but then again they are all wood

I picked up a pair of Joystick These about a month ago and they are sooooo light and soooo buttery it's such a blast riding them. They lock onto rails because of the width under foot and actually stand up on jumps very well. I highly recommend looking into These skis.

K2 domains are fun but they arent very durable. Also not super stable on big jumps if you land back seat. Atomic punx are also really fucking great but cant take abuse. Both skis have pretty weak edges. Heard awesome things about ON3P Filthy riches. I would suggest volkl wall or armada THALLs. They can survive abuse and theyre buttery.

anthems. I'm on moment Jibs now, which are sweet too, but the anthems are definitely my favorite park ski. the only reason I moved on was cause the edges had nothing left and I can't stand not holding an edge.

the moment jib is something else I'd recommend, but the added camber makes it pretty worthless on variable terrain in my opinion. but that's in comparison to the anthems, so that's another vote for that.

i have a pair as a secondary park ski, and theres no denying that a-bangs are pretty lousy as far as park skis go. but despite the fact that they are heavy, slow, and absurdly flexible, its still really easy to have a ton of fun using them. its not a great everyday ski, and not what id want to use to learn super-feds or cork sevens, but they are fun in the playful way ski blades are, but they dont look as stupid. butters for days.

Get the line afterbangs super buttery and poppy, great for urban skiing and take a shit ton of abuse. awesome for rails, the bases and edges are super durable. they're a little bit heavy but honestly its completely worth it if you want a reliable park ski that wont let you down.
