Good Ski epoxy

Looking to build a pair and have all the materials and tools alid out, just need some good ideas on epoxy.

Must bond metal, wood, fiberglass and plastic

realtively inexpensive, good strength and obviously resistant to cold.

Anyone have any ideas

SVST (or sun valley ski tools) makes a great 2 part epoxy.

Basically you apply equal amounts of part a to part b and mix them til they are a cum stain white.

Then you apply it to your area, put a nice even coating everywhere you want sealed out (edges, base delam, topsheet chipping/removing) and clamp the shit out of it. Then once it sets overnight you clean it up and you are good to go.

I screwed mine trying tip stands. Started a little peel, couple of tip stands later. Most the top sheet has peeled off like the back of a sticker.

G/Flex is awesome for delam repair, I would think it would be good for building skis also

It's really good for delam repair because it can flex quite a bit more than other epoxys (skis flex a lot, especially in the tips...). The fact that it's flexible also enables it to handle shock and vibration better.

I've used it on my delaming skis that I'm currently still riding. I've had at least 10 full days of icy landings and rail slammings since they've been repaired and they have held up perfectly.

I just bought from entropy resins and plan on laying up my first pair in a couple weeks or so. Entropy was cheaper per gallon than most so I went with them.

I have just used Marine Epoxy from The Home Depot in the past. Always worked well.

Yeah tip stands made mine worse but it was under my boot so not by much. Gettin it temp fixed for this weekend cuz I'm lending my last year skis to a friend who wants to try freestyle instead of snowboarding. I showed him the new intel kieran mcslay vid and he was hooked. Skiing 1 snowboarding 0
