ESPN is reporting she has a final in school tomorrow and wot compete because of that. It's on their twitter. This is completely legit and ever more disappointing.

I am glad to see she had the maturity to make the correct decision. Obviously she is prolly already missing way more school than they would like her to so I am not surprised that they would not reschedule. At least she is thinking about her future instead of only whats best for her right now.

I was hoping steezy Darla would be there with her Flat 5 to the Gucci Plateau but of course, X games loves the original American girls or Frenchies. No style in Girls apart from Lisa and Darla, I mean they've got to catch up with snowboarding: You've got Aimee Fuller and Kimmy Fasani throwing Dub BS Rodeos and Dub Backs, and people like Annie Boulanger slaying on the level of Ingrid Backstrom. Ski needs to catch up just a little, I mean, they're pros and paid to do it.

Pretty disgusting how we're made to believe the things we love cannot take precedent over something like school. It's common knowledge that an individual can learn and gain infinitely more from living their life than they ever could from being lectured in a classroom.

Here you have Lisa - a girl with a lot of years ahead of her and a ton of killer talent - and she can't compete in a competition that acts as a stepping stone for her skiing career. Not only that but it's such a unique experience to have considering so many will never get the opportunity.

Her going home is justified I suppose, but certainly not the right decision. School is chump shit these days unless you're in college picking up real skills.

She could win the xgames and is doing some stupid exam instead? Awful choice. First of all, why can't she just explain to her school whats up? And second, fuck it, you have a chance to win one of the biggest events of the year that would put her in more contests and potentially INTO THE OLYMPICS and shes going to an oral exam? If he teachers really don't let he just push it back thats ridiculous.

Smart choice, stupid choice, whatever. I think the right choice is to support her choice.

Would I have liked to see her win Gold? Obviously. In a thread the other day I said that "she is the most exciting thing to happen to girls park skiing since sarah burke was in FHM." Would Woman's skiing be better off if Lisa won Gold with the dub 12? Obviously. But who the fuck am I to say that some 17 year old girl half way around the world should compete in a contest because I want her to?

Going home for school is a huge decision. I wouldn't be surprised if it haunts her every day for a long long time. Maybe she could have changed her oral exam? Maybe she couldn't? Does it really matter? She made the decision to go to School. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. She is still the most exciting park girl out there. Not showing up at one contest, even if it is Xgames, doesn't change that fact.

This was sort of my thought. I would be willing to bet that the Euro school standards/ideals may be a bit different and less flexible than what we are used to here in the States.

Obviously we all want to see her compete and crush it, and I'm sure it's more disappointing for her than anyone else. It must be pretty darn important for her to make that choice, and while I would have liked to see her choose to compete, I'm pretty impressed that she chose school over X. I think that shows an awful lot of maturity and dedication on her part and it seems that she knows what is priority for her at the present time.
