3). It's not "bad", but I would recommend Mob, Jessup, or Grizzly. It doesn't matter too much.

I would go with Indy trucks and some spitfire wheels. Don't know too much about grip tapes, and board size is all your preference really. See what feels more comfortable for your balance and foot size.

1 depends on what you'll do with it (street, vert)
2 Pig Wheels make some solid ones
3 No, not at all.
4 Just go for some cheap at your local skateshop, there is no such thing as "pro-wheels"

I'm 10.5 (claim) and i ride 7.75 and it's on the verge of beeing to small, so i would say between 7.75 and 8.5 which would be 8 is pretty optimum. atleast i'm getting an 8 when i'm switching board.

Yah i found a nice simple blank wood deck on blankdecks.com anyone used those or know anything about them? i dont want to send a lot of money on a deck and Im not going to goin really hard so i probably dont need some indestructible deck.

8.25: super solid width, easy to land and ride out.

indy trucks with medium bones bushings: best trucks out, the bushings just make them better.

bones swiss bearings: cost a lot but last significantly longer than other bearings

bones wheels: best formula, they dont flatspot and rarely get chunked out.

mob grip:perfect amount of grippyness iron horse is too grippy for me.

I'd start with an 8' deck and see how that feels; too big you can go down to a 7.75', too small you can move up. Bones Reds bearings are great and pretty cheap, Grizzly Grip is good but I wouldn't worry too much about grip, and wheel size depends on what your skating. I use 50 mil for street but you could prob use 51 or 52, and then bigger wheels for bowls and vert. Spitfire, Pig, and Ricta all make good wheels

2. Like people have said bones reds are real good for the price.
3. Try Jessup or Mob.
4. Bones STF, never get flat spots and wear evenly so you can ride then as long as you want. go for like a 53.

Support your local shot and buy a shop deck or a minilogo. They would both be cheaper than other decks at your shop.

Didn't read everyone else's responses, so not sure if I'm just repeating what you've been told, but...
1. It's all personal preference, start with 8 and go from there.
2. Reds, always.
3. No, but if you're just starting out you probably wont notice a difference. I prefer mob or grizzly, but grizzly will eat your shoes in a day.
4. Bones STFs are the best wheels out there. I like semi-big wheels so they last, but it's preference. Start at about a 53 and go from there.

But... But there is a noticeable difference. He will be buying a new set of wheels in no time. I have straight seen a CCS blank wheel shatter on impact. It makes a difference, I don't like you, You're not a good spout of advice. Telling a kid to get a 7.75 if you have ever skateboarded you'd realize riding anything under a 8.0 automatically makes you a pussy. An 8.0 is by far the most versatile board size.

I agree on deck size, and a good set of wheels, trucks, and bearings will last awhile if you treat em well. blank decks are the way to go though to save lots of cash. like someone posted above, blankdecks.com is a fcking great site, haven't used it in years though.

1) it usually depends on how good you are + how big you are.. im 5'9 and skate a 8" board.

2) go to local shop and see what they have. at my shop we have like no name kinda for 20$, shake junt for 16$, redz for 18$...

3) id go for Jessup if i were you. but seriously, grip is not the most important thing. itll get fucked up so quickly that ull have to change it before its over used any ways.

4) 52 are cheap and good. A lot of shops have their own wheels which is what i use cuz theyre cheap. i used to skate elements.

A bit part of skateboarding is personal preference. The more you skate, the more you'll realize what "feel" you like youre board to have.. Start off with stuff thats in your price range, and once u have a bit more cash u can start changing things one at a time and try out new things. try your buddys boards and see what you like. took me a few years to find my favorite set up.

Your also gonna wanna get a nice strong deck that'll last you for a bit while you figure out your shit. From my experience Baker/Deathwish, Toy Machine, Alien Workshop, and Plan B all make pretty durable decks. You could also go for one of those fancy decks with carbon fibre inserts and whatnot, off the top of my head I know Almost and Foundation make them. Probably not worth the extra loot if your just beginning though

And you're calling me skate-deficient? That post is just so full of fuck it's unbelievable, ofcourse your wheels will shatter if you buy them for a pair of bucks at Wal-mart. But if you buy a pair of blank wheels for like 15$ and a pair of "PROOOOO" wheels for like 50$ there is basically no difference in either feel or quality. And you obvously have no fucking idea what you're talking about when it comes to deck sizes, 8.0 might be more versatile but for a beginner a 7.75 would be muuuch better. Just because you like skating on a fucking surfboard doesn't mean everyone else is a pussy.

For wheels I'd get bones, there average priced and incredibly durable. Im in 12th grade been riding the same pair of bones since 7th grade, they have definitely gotten smaller but no flatspots or big chips. Mob grip tape is good, pretty grippy will last a bit longer than generic brands and still cheap. I recommend plan b for a beginner deck because it won't snap. The ones i've had will last a couple years until the pops gets too bad, though a blank deck will do fine if your just starting out and good luck with the setup.
