I would be, but I'm most likely taking a year off so then it'd be class of 2018. and I have to decide between a few other schools.

you "decent scholarship" people- out of curiosity, what did they give you? I was kinda surprised at how low mine was considering that I got much higher offers from better schools.

I got $40,000 ($5k/semester) from merit and I haven't heard back yet for financial aid or if the engineering college gives scholarships.

Accepted, waiting on aid. Probably getting none as I'm too stupid for merit and not poor enough for need based aid.

congrats. do they tend to offer scholarships to in-state students more than out of state? i was always under the impression that that uvm wasn't very scholarship friendly for a state school

They aren't. But I'm not dure what its like between in-states and out of states. Just for reference, I'm out of state and I got the best merit based scholarship(I think), 40,000 total over the 4 years if I keep my grades above like a 3.2 or something.

i wish burlington was cool again :(. its all the same now, school starts, bros come, bars get packed. same gay dubstep year after year. spring comes, town gets trashed. more gay dubstep shows. then finialy summer is back and burlington is bareable again. i feel like im becoming a old man

Yeah i dont understand how people afford It. Got accepted with a 7k scholarship a year and it still is ridiculous. Unless you come from a very well off family and your parents are paying your way through, have fun paying off your loans.

My parents aren't rich, just very financially smart. My grandparents set up a college fund for me when i was born and. They, my parents, my other grandparents, and I have been controbuting to it throughout my whole life and now With the scholarship I have enough to get through without debt. Probably going to do the same for my kids.

Geology, and i am fairly certain that if i perform pretty well at any of these schools they will open prety much the same doors. I know penn state has the best geology program, but boulder is also known for there science. I just really wished boulder gave me some financial aid... It will be a little tight with money if i end up going there, but i hear it will definitely be worth it. thanks for all the feedback. (by the way, i did not intend to take the subject of this thread off of UVM class of 2017. my bad)

In that case, which gave you the most aid. Don't make skiing a priority. Just make sure you are going to a school where you'll graduate with a manageable amount of debt or little to none. Loans are not aid.. Just make the choice based off of academics. I'm probably going to RIT next...i've heard the skiing isn't good but I'm graduating close to debt free which means I can afford a newish car and trips to Tahoe and BC while in school

True, but idk, skiing is important, (you don't want to undervalue it either hahaha) Your plan sounds sick, but personally, i would rather live nearby great mountains.
