Chronic, iron maiden, thalls, twalls???

which of the above? so damn confused right now lol.

Chronic felt awesome for their butteryness yet being stable and very low swingweight, iron maidens seem to hold up to much shit you do to them...

now I really don't know about the thalls, only rumors, but they just have that damn sex appeal lol
(also wondering about alphaX or al dentes... aldentes seem cheap to me though)

twalls are pretty buttery and shit as I saw, but they're also not very cheap.

what should I buy? lookin for the most buttery ski that is yet poppy and has good edges, mainly only jibbing but fun on small jumps too (lets say like up to 10m jumps, everything above I'm cool with a straightair lol)

really appreciating your advice :)

thalls are a great ski, very durable and worth the money

go with thalls you wont be disappointed!

though chronic & twalls feel pretty similar (rode chronics, saw how twalls are being ridden by a friend of mine)

The Chronics are an all-around great, commendable ski. They now hold a slight early rise (Early Rise Tip/Camber/Early Rise Tail) so they can rip the whole mountain better than previous years. The maple block core, is also lighter than previous years (10%), however still a heavier park ski than most. It is quite durable (30% thicker base and edge) and is great for jibbing around in the park. In any case, they are durable, versatile and provide a solid feeling. Thin tip and tail. LIke previous years, the Chronic has a cap construction making it nimble and responsive. Rides great forward and switch.

The Iron maiden built on the recoils chassis provides a solid feeling underfoot. Very stable and responsive. The recoil/maiden are markedly durable chiefly because of their ABSorb sidewalls. Honestly, these skis are the standard for urban features. They are softer and slightly lighter than the chronics, composed of a fir aspen core. They have 30% rocker tip and tail (all-mountain rocker) and perform great in all conditions. However, difficult to butter. Both are great skis that perform similar.

I have only rode those two and none other.

phew you're making my decission hard, haha!

sounds like both skis are pretty similar, I only skied the chronics and they felt just like you described...

Do you think the extra weight will affect my skiing much?


Oh and, how much do you guys value race bases? Only important for pipe or also recommendable for slopestyle (though I mainly ski rails)?

No, the extra weight by all means does not make it a heavy ski. Yes, both of these skis are heavier than say the atomic punx, however, they will feel solid underfoot and are more adaptable to the environment. Personally, I don't like skis that resemble a floppy noodle, both the chronics and recoils/maidens can hit massive booters, holding you steady, and cushioning the hit. If you ski the whole mountain, both are great skis to buy. I just can't choose.
