Friend has these, I always though of them as a stiffer ski but he says there are pretty buttery. Durability seems good, I don't really know anything else about them.
Do not get switchblades. I regret it soo much. They are rediculously heavy and there not durable at all. The only think thats good is that the topsheet does not chip. I have no edge underfoot after 50 days on them.
Welp, I ended up getting them in a 181 for 200$ with some sth 14's. I'm cheap and greedy so I jumped on the deal. I'll report back on how they are once I mount and ski them
these sticks are a great all around park/jib /carving/ ski. work in bumps and pipe well too. they have a little weight but not too heavy. 4frnt bindings are a bit heavy but heavy = quality. These are not soft skis but can still be buttered fine. I love the flex and allows for super pop. tops sheets are durable and i have had no issues with the edges. a proper de-tune will keep the edges just fine. these are my favorite park skis in a while.
Good to hear, I mounted mine center and will be trying them out soon. The recommended was 2.5cm back but I figured for a near pure park ski center would be better for me. Just wondering if that was a good idea, I get kinda paranoid with mounting.
Alright here's my findings on the switchblade. First off flex is medium, you can press but it still holds on jumps well. It's definitely better suited for jumps. Edges are tough though, normally I have cracks within the first week but nothing, I got the edges detuned by a tech though but edges are thick. I've done some large disasters on these and they held up perfect, toughest skis I've had so far. The topsheet doesn't chip at all either. Bases are sintered so they're fast. They are boring when it comes to popping them onto rails, in terms of pop they're poor for rails, but better on jumps, again more of a jump ski. Swing weights good too by the way. Unfortunately they measure short, 181 is really 178 so I have a lot of trouble landing bigger features since I'm between 6"3 too 6"4. This can be really frustrating if I'm trying to do larger spins, especially when landing switch. Because of the length issue I'm going to sell them to a shorter friend and try to get longer/stiffer skis. They're great skis, only negative is the pop is on the low, just to short for me.
thanks for that. exactly what I was looking for. from your findings i think im going to pass and get a poppier ski that has a true to length measurement.
Glad I could help, seems like 4frnt measure about 2.5cm off so 181 is really 178.5. They're great skis it's just harder to pop off the tails when approaching a rail. Personally I'd gladly keep them if they were actually 181 or longer.
I've had mine for two seasons now after absolutely destroying my Armadas.
I love them, if you can get them for cheap they're fucking amazing. I have Marker Gryphons on them and they're incredibly light, I have no idea what that other guy was talking about. I've yet to feel a pair of skis that are lighter. They're stiff but not insanely so, I don't weigh that much and I can definitely butter them. They're crazy durable too, like I said I'm two season in on them and they're still totally fine. Edges still attached even though I ride like 60+ park days a season and the topsheet has barely any damage at all. The Switchblade is just super solid, nothing crazy unique or anything, but they ride good and, at least in my experience, hold up really really well.
I also have the switchblades and love them. I personally don't know if the dropping back 2.5cm makes a difference but another guy at my local hill seems to think so. The ski is very durable, I got out just shy of 50 times this season (in Ontario so that's no to shabby) and have not lost any edge yet just some minor cracks and almost no top sheet damage at all. I also found this ski to be more geared for jumps because they do lack a tiny bit of pop onto rails but when I say this they still get the job done no problem it's just some of those higher gaps might require a little more effort. Some people complain about the weight but I did not find it a problem I didn't find them heavy at all, I also found the swing weight to be real nice. As a primarily rail skier I still love the ski and found it real nice just make sure you buy the 181's if you are anywhere close to 6 feet trust me.
