Yeah I vaulted all though high school and in college. I wasnt anything special, 13'9" in highschool and 15'3" in college. It is awesome. Possibly the most technical event in any sports or any kind. If you mess up just ever so slightly in a vault it could have a pretty big impact on that jump. Ive had my share of injuries from it but for the most part if you do it correct you will be safe. It takes A LOT of practice to really progress in that event compared to other events. I ended up stuck at 15ft in college cause I was also doing the decathlon and didnt have time to work on it. SO much fun though if youre on the fence about it give it a shot and see what happens!
I pole vaulted last year and absolutely loved it. I ended the season at 11'6" last year which I think is pretty good being it my first year. Started again last week, stoked for this season! Hoping to get to 13
I've been vaulting for one year now, starting my second. Yes I enjoyed it vaulting is fun. It looks like it could get boring after a while, because its like doing the same trick over and over. On less you
can learn frontflip vaults or other weird kinds of vaults. But the non stop progression and the ability to progress keeps it fun.
