Replying to Thread page numbers taking up space

can anything be done about the fact that every thread in the thread listings has a link to every page? for example, the 'post your latest purchase' thread in NSG currently has 525 links, of which i am sure, only 2 are clicked on from the thread listing. this wasn't a problem back in the day when threads rarely got past 10 pages, but now these things just take up space, it looks kinda stupid. instead of counting off every single page, can we just have first and last page links in the thread listings, or something similar to the way the pages are listed at the top within the threads?
