what are you all paying (or payed) a month and for how long to pay off your car? i'm considering taking out a loan this summer to purchase one and i'm curious to see what other people payed

i pay $100 every week for car insurance due to accidents and shit. i have that snapshot thing from progressive though and it dropped my insurance by $250 already in a month

no car payment, i drive an old chevy metro. things a beast. just keeps on running and gets me from a to b.

my car insurance is 58 bucks a month for that. liability only.

bought a motorcycle recently. 100 bucks a month for 36 months. i'll probably pay it off sooner tho.

the basic insurance on that is 200 a year which you pay all at once.

i'm gonna upgrade to $30k worth of medical coverage on myself tho, but in CA you have to pay it all at once or in two payments, and its an extra $350..

When I had a car.....

It was $358 a month for 48 months after a trade in and $2000 down. For an impreza outback.


If I were to buy a car again... I'd do it the right way. 20% of your take home income including gas/insurance.

I'd probably aim for something closer to 15% though.

Got a very good deal since several of my family members work at a dealer ship, so I paid in full cash. Half and half with my parents.

I only pay about $60 a month being on my mom's plan and good student discount.

if you have expendable cash on hand, yes. however, i didnt work during school this year, and i will need a car this summer. so i am going to have to take out a loan and pay it back when im making the money. plus i'd rather pay over a few years and get something nicer that will last me a lot longer than spend the 2000 i have on hand on a shitty car that will have issues
