I would like to call attention to this post right here. I think John Kutcher probably knows what he is talking about. Also, I found this video of Henrik actually doing a dub flat/bio 14 at (I think) Frostgun last year:
he is facing backwards and has done one full flip that makes 540. The 180 degrees of spin and the 360 degrees of flip. That how you count flat spins the flip is part of the spin.
i think the bulk of the confusion is coming from the fact that he isnt fully flipping the second rotation so people arent counting the flip as a 360s as they should.
They're just trolling. There is no way someone could actually look at that slow motion video and somehow count 4 spins. He flips twice, spins once, its blatantly a 1080.
i really think its a 14. But i dont care any more at this point . you can all think its a 10 i can think its a 14. Im not going to debate this with people i dont know on the internet anymore. We have differing opinions. It is what it is.
I'mma go out on a limb here to administer some truth, but correct me if I'm wrong.
I see two different tricks in the video. The first is a double flat ten, the second is the shadows and against the sun (which makes it hard to see for sure) is a double flat 14.
Before we go any further, I know the double 14 call will be questionable - check out how quick Sammy spins the first 3 after the takeoff, hes basically already 180 in terms of body position the instant hes off the snow. Count in slow mo and tell me I'm wrong.
The argument you are all having over the first trick is really negated once you count how many times the riders face orients in the direction of travel - how many times does he/she face forward? Look at a flat or rodeo 7 - its twice. First trick in the video, count em. Second trick, again, hard to see, count em.
Double make my head hurt. When you get to crazy rotations like this, there really are a few different ways to throw a "double flat 10", as Sammy demonstrates here - Double flat 9 to 180 is one way, other people throw them by doing back to back true flat 5's. Style has always differentiated tricks (Tanner threw different switch rodeo 7's than others even back in the day) but double like the first trick really illustrate how useless it may be to ascribe generic names to these maneuvers. Might Olsson have been on to something by naming the specific double variations he threw by specific names (kangaroo flip, tornado, hex flip)?
The second trick is definitely a double CORK 14, he clearly does a cork 7 to delayed/hucked cork 7, which is why it looks a little odd. I agree with the rest of your post but someone would have to be a complete idiot to think the first trick is a 14 and dudes in here are trolling so I sure hope kids dont actually think that first trick was a 14.
this. no one is this dumb. can't believe this thread has had this many posts. its not even debatable yet its some how being debated. leave it to ns to have the DUMBEST conversation in skiing
im really sorry, you got it all right up until the point where you said "then he does a 540", it just isnt watch it, dub flat 9, then kicks out and 180's on the end. please pull your self together.
This thread is actually awesome haha. The people that think its a 14 are are counting flat 3s as 5s and 7s because they are "flipping" and "spinning" at the same time. Which is just stupid and clearly doesnt make sense. Both of their videos are clearly way off. regadless i find the whole thing very amusing.
This thread rustles my jimmies so fucking hard. You moronic little shit troll fuckers saying it's a 14 deserve to have their balls twisted around three full times and then when they try to tell me it was 4 times give 'em another full twist to see what they say. The people posting vids should be banned for eternity and forced to retake grade 2 math. Downright idiocy
