Has anyone seen the movie Django Unchained? I just saw it recently and thought it was the most badass movie I've ever seen. Not only did I think it was badass I also thought it was just a good movie. Quentin Taratino is the man! What did you guys think about the movie?

Little late here, but I just finally watched this movie.


Django got so much hype and holy fuck it shattered my expectations. I didn't want that shit to end. The final scene was so fucking awesome and the entire movies was so on point. QT took an idea (western) and followed no specific structure and he did such a good job. The story, the writing, the acting and the cine was awesome. Might as well call QT the hammer, cause he always fucking nails it.

I meant like a western genre structure. I was slightly disappointed he didn't have chapters but its okay QT, i was still very happy with the result.

aaannnnddddd fuck Comcast. I get about an hour and 10 minutes in and my cable box decides to take a shit. The screen is frozen and there's an error message telling me to call Comcast for help. Fuckers.

okay yea, it was a major let down. basically just followed the exact same formula as Inglorious Basterds (take a group that everyone hates, make a dramatic and shocking story about it, then kill the bad guys in an outrageous way), but didnt go far enough. He took his outrageous scenes for granted and thus the shock factor didnt shock.
i was like 'meh'

This is definitely one of my favourite movies. I actually watched Pulp Fiction a few days ago and realized just how much weight Tarantino has put on.

You're a fucking idiot. It's no secret that this film follows the same formula as his other movies (not just Inglorious, you stupid n00b). That's about the end of the similarities between the two movies.

I love how you weren't impressed by a guy's exposed dick getting blown off or that kneegrow being ripped apart by the dogs... someone's lying just to be different... must be a hipster.

Some scenes were cool, the slavery stuff was intense and makes you think.
But it wasn't nearly as good as the hype

Bumping this thread because I finally watched Django and was very impressed. Yeah the plot was great, the actors did an excellent job, but the editing and soundtrack were what really made the movie for me. Generally I don't really notice the music in a movie, but wow. Every song was so fitting - especially Rick Ross' "100 Black Coffins" in this scene:
