Some more interesting things have happened recently. Turns out my friends rossis were way to small for me given my height (they were 174)
Been looking even deeper and found:
Dynastar 6th sense distorters in a 185
Liberty Antigens in a 184
and Armada T-halls in a 181 that I can afford
All within my price range. Really it comes down to which skis fits me best.
The dynastars have won some awards and I know they make quality skis, I talked to someone who owned an older model and loved them for their durability. I just wouldn't know where to mount them since they're not symmetrical. Plus they seem like more of an all mountain twin at times then a solid park ski. I think the bases are sintered which is a huge plus, and the rocker camber mixture sounds like what I'm looking for; flex in the tips and tails with rebound and grip underfoot.
The t-halls are also suposed to be bomber (my friend broke his pair but I think that was a defect)and buttery in the tips and tails while staying strong underfoot. Really my only concern is where to mount them, half the time I hear center and the other half of the time I hear recommend, because center makes you fight the sidecut and something about how the Armada team rides all their skis at factory.
The liberty skis seem like their lowest ski, so I don't know if they'll be too "forgiving" or if they will be able to handle the abuse. They do come in a centered stance and bamboo sounds nice, plus these also come in a longer size too.
Thoughts?
Unfortunately skis are going left and right during this time so I don't have a ton of options.
