I have 90mm width skis and am looking for bindings, are 90mm bindings made to fit 90mm skis or are they strictly 90mm and I need to look for bigger brakes? Also, I've seen on here that you can bend them to fit bigger, is that safe and something I should consider, or stay away from?
It will work just fine. The guys mounting the bindings will just tweek the break just enough to clear the side wall. No worries. You would rather have it fit tight than hanging off the side.
The measurement of the brake is actually the measurement of the widest skis they'll fit on (so 90mm brakes are actually wider than 90mm so that they'll fit on skis that are 90mm wide or less).
I have some marker Barons (brake width 120 mm) on my Bent Chetlers (waist width 123 mm). I had to bend the brakes and they don't click together, which means that they're a little wonky when I carry them, but it's fine.
