Boot buckle bends plastic when tightened?

On my left ski boot, when I try to tighten my top buckle, instead of having that secure snap when it clicks down, the part of the buckle that is attached into the ski bends the pastic into boot, so it makes it so i cant tighten it more than four places, or else the buckle wont even close...  Anybody know why?? looks like a defect to me, I would contact the store you bought them from, and if they can't help then go to the company. Chances are the store will completely refund you the money or give you another pair of boot that are the same model, unless they are total idiots who don't understand your problem.

This is unfortunately a problem inherent with cheaper plastics (polyolefins, polyethelynes, polypropelynes) and if your boot is replaced with the same boot, it could very well happen again. To be absolutely sure you don't get the same problem in the future, make sure the next boot you buy is made with a plastic from the polyurethane family (polyether, polyester) and you will not encounter this problem again. Such boots are usually >$350

Not a defect just a softer plastic. Don't contact anybody, they won't help. Go you your local shop and tell the fitter you need to take up some volume. Thats all that can be done.
