Suggestions for a camera stabilizer

and I was looking for some suggestions on a good stabilizer that I can use to film skiing and skating. Price isn't an issue.

What I do for skiing is I shorten a tripod to the smallest it can go, then tilt the head up at a right angle so I can tuck it under my arm and have a line of sight that goes with it. If you don't know what I'm talking about feel free to make me elaborate.

For skating I use a Opteka X-Grip EX MK 2. Picture:

Essentially a cam caddie but aluminum and it comes with an accessory shoe. Much more solid.

I can't afford a flycam/glidecam, and I'm not serious enough about filming to justify that kind of money on a stabilizer. These work fine for me.

Yeah I'm geared more towards the flycam and glidecams, but my camera definitely does not weigh as much as a DSLR so would that affect how stable it is?

I've used in caddie in the past, but I never really liked the results so I'm willing to drop the money as long as it's gonna provide results ya know?

Don't "drop money" on a caddy, overpriced ones like camtrol are fucking stupid. If yuo want a caddy, just get the $30 one and then buy a glidecam hd1000 or 2000.

I think you'd be surprised, DSLRs are pretty light. But worst case scenario you could add some wieght if you needed it

Yeah just looked at the glidecam hd1000, I used my buddies when I shot for woodward TV but it was the 2000 I believe and I was shooting with a 60D w/ external monitor.
