Most airlines allow you to have your boots attached to the outside of your carry on right?
I haven't heard about any airline making a big deal about it. If they do, wear your boots until you get on the plane and put your shoes in your carry on
I just imagined some kid walking into security wearing ski boots.
"sir please take your shoes, belt, jacket and hat off. anything in your pockets? great"
Pissing off the entire line while you unbuckle your ski boots. Bonus points for lace up liners.
never had an issue and Ive done it 10+ times. I always have my backpack with my laptop/other electronic stuff and then i put my boots over my shoulder. airlines dont give a fuck
i keep my boots buckled on the side of my bag the whole time, laptop and jacket etc inside my bag and never have had a problem. i dont take my boots off at any point during the whole process either.
I've never had a problem. Worse comes to worst they'll ask you to check them at the gate. Or you could do like others said and wear them on the plane haha
But no, as long as you have 1 "carry on" (bag) and 1 "personal item" (ski boots) they don't really care. I've brought boots on to many of their flights, and have seen plenty of others do it, too, over the years.
most airlines let you take two carry on bags. one is like a decent sized bag and the other is a small backpack size. If you are just taking a backpack and boots they will be cool with it. They only go after the guys who try and bring like two of those rolling carry-on things.
probably going to be at the discretion of the gate agents. I would say for your best chance make sure the other carry-on is small enough to fit under the seat. (IE a laptop case) that way your backpack and boots go in the overhead. Like many have said dont be that guy thats got his 22in roller-bag, a backpack, and ski boots. probably wont happen.
I would also recommend that your backpack be a small school type, not medium to large one.
