Such a sick event to watch in person. That hip was pretty huge and everyone seemed to be having a really good time.

Kyle Smaise(?). He's a local there and it seems they just let him join the invitational. He was one of the most fun to watch for sure!

Really sick event by the way, love all the tricks sending in like 3 hours and the end with the double 12 blunt from harlaut followed by candide double back was perfect ! we need a video recap !

Even the announcers said that he schooled everyone there. Just about everything he threw was dope. Some of the stuff he threw early was pretty amazing. He hit the qpipe switch to switch landing and went farther across than most guys who were just throwing straight airs. And those dubs he was throwing over the spine were burly. Don't get me wrong, what Phil and Dollo threw was amazing, but Tanner said that this comp was supposed to be about the sum of all of a guy's tricks thrown. He said it wasn't supposed to be a comp where you could win the whole comp with one baller trick. I guess that was just talk. Kyle got robbed, IMO.

First off someone who poaches the contest isn't going to win regardless of what he does. He did throw down all day but dollo killed it. Dub 7 on the hip, dub 12 blunt over the hip, nosebutters on the qps and hip. I watched the live stream and didn't see dollo fall once. He deserved the win for sure.

This. Although B-Dog deserved to win best style.

It's a hard decision, I mean Henrik threw a butter dub, a dub 7 and got crazy on the quarter, but Kyle did a 5 screamin seamen over the gap, a dub over the gap, and killed the hip. It's tough, but with a comp layout like this, Kyle maybe deserved the win. Doesn't matter anyways, don't doubt he had one of the most fun sessions in his life.

Huh, no hate, just wondering why. Tall skinny dude with plaid flannel?!?!?! Anyway, to each his own. I can't recall seeing him ski before, but he was fun to watch. While a lot of the other guys kept trying something until they stomped it, he was landing everything, and didn't ever seem to repeat. He looked like he was having more fun out there than anyone else. Maybe that was just the stoke of getting to hang with all those guys, but he seemed to elevate the games of everyone else.

I know I sounds like a negative dick, and I'm usually not, but it definitely seems ridiculous that Henrik and Phil won the THall/Inspired Invitational. I feel like there were a whole lot of other people throwing down harder/bigger and it kind of went against Tanner's initial guidelines to the comp. One big marketing stunt?

the competition was judged by the skiers competing. each skier got to vote a winner for each catagory. Henrik won the overall by over 50% of the total votes and Phil won best style and most unique use of the feature by over 50% on each catagory by his follow skiers.

Nothing really to do with his clothes. He flails a lot, everything has a hucked feel to me. Like you said, he was just throwing trick after trick, never taking the time to make it his own, put some flow/personality/smoothness to it. The other guys were retrying the same trick because they appreciate what it takes to refine a move and to truly stomp it the way you envision it should be.

Of course there's nothing wrong with trying and learning new tricks and just sending it. But there's more to it than that.

just like travis rice winning the first year of his own contest, and jonny moseley winning his.. when the riders vote for the winner, it can happen. i thought overall it was a cool vibe but definitely needs improvement from a spectator viewpoint. Camera work on the live feed was terrible.

or maybe he hiked almost the entire time and worked on more hits than anyone else.  he kept sending the  screamin japan until he stomped the shit out of it, and didnt even think about sending the 10's and 12's (both ways and capped out blunt)  until he was pretty happy with everything else he landed.  not to mention still being 25 feet in the air passing knuckle of the hip because he was sending it like a boss. but yeah man, you definitely know whats up

Also, another note from the event... Henrik received $10,000 for the overall and Phil $1,000 for each award he won on top of the go pro and back pack. We just did not advertise the prize money or use it to promote to the riders for them to come. Hope you guys enjoyed the event and stoked to bring you a better one next year!
