as far as blue states being fiscally better and smarter why don't you take a look at maine?

The only thing I can foresee helping this state is being the first east coast state to officially legalizing it.

No like that's a fact. If you look at demographic breakdowns. It's like the poorer you are the more likely you are to be a democrat. The less education you have the more likely you are to be a democrat. If you're a women you are more likely to be a democrat. If you are a minority expect Asians you are more likely to be a democrat. I mean i can go into religion, age, ect. But my point was it's just more likely. It Doesn't mean if your rich and educated that you are republican.

Oh please enough with the FOX News thing. Every democrat always brings this up like "oh my god oh my god Fox News oh my god!" when in actuality there are far more democratic biased news stations, shows, newspapers, etc. than there are conservative ones.

You mean to say that those that watch MSNBC, CNN, NBC, ABC, CBS and all their associated programs aren't misinformed? As if those networks don't embellish certain facts to support the left?

The bias is everywhere it's extremely difficult to escape it in the mainstream media.

I can name you at least 2 instances where NBC/ABC altered footage to lie to their audience. Off the top of my head i know these. Not looking em up. Based solely on my viewership.

Name one time fox has done that. Dont google it. Name it off the top of your head.

Ok. I will give you that. Its not exactly what i was looking for but you did what I asked. Hannity is an ass. But still, thats not really the same as when NBC altered the George Zimmermans 911 call to make him seem like a racist. The gaff you presented was harmless.

More importantly than playing sides is to being able to see that all those outlets suck.

Do me a favor and watch Stossel on FOX. I think you would like him and agree with him on most issues

I probably would agree I don't really know because I don't watch too much mainstream media. What I do know that I had to look up a couple studies for school and found out that people who watch FOXNews are the most misinformed than any other news station. Also that was off the top my head But I'm sure if I actually googled it and did some research I could probably find other stories. Then again I'm sure I could Google any new station and find stories that will say they did that.

I feel like this doesn't really show democrats or republicans being smarter/dumber than the other. If anything it shows what states value education higher. for the most part the blue states have far more big cities and urban areas compared to red states which are far more rural, to put it very simply, its office jobs vs farming..

SCHOOL education doesnt make you smarter than someone who learns through real life learning/experiences. and a lot of the jobs in more rural areas dont require a degree, or studying books, experience is much more important.

coming from someone who grew up in a city, i know plenty of book smart kids, shit my best friend was the valedictorian, but after moving to a more rural area and hanging out with a lot more "redneck" people, i dont see one being smarter than the other, if anything, its the redneck guys who never graduated highschool because it just held them back from working that much more who have a lot more common sense. if anything its education vs common sense.

but the social programs thing, now that confuses me..

I love how a lot of you complain about how democrats do such a bad job, which may or may not be true. If they are so bad for the US go do something about it or hop off the whole topic in general and stop wasting energy trying to think of another insult or trying to berate democrats or republicans.

Isn't the south the poorest and least educated part of the country and also the most conservative? Aren't the most wealthy and well-educated (northeast, california) parts of the countries also overwhelmingly democratic?

haha fuck off dude that's because of urban cities and higher populations. Having almost 8 million people in the bay area is going to produce elite high schools, and it so happens that San Francisco is the liberal capital of the world. Look at the ratios, it's more likely for a higher number of smart kids to be produced out of 8 million rather than a small southern conservative state with a fraction of that population.

on point. the lesser income the more supportive of federal services you are. GOP isn't fond of national healthcare and welfare. if you have money, it makes sense that you wouldn't side with democrats, who want higher taxes on the wealthy

Anybody who is not an ass. Look at it like this, if we give a 1% tax hike to the high upper class (like 750k+ a year), what do they lose? maybe the chance to buy their third jet ski, or a second vacation, maybe. But if we give a 1% tax hike to the lower class, they lose stuff that's a little bit more important, because they're spending 80% of their income on things necessary to survive (food, shelter ect.), and we get less revenue.
People (cough cough republicans) argue that we shouldn't raise taxes at all. Well at this moment, we are currently running over 17 trillion dollars in debt, and have no signs of stopping this. Unless the right side of the aisle can give proper spending cuts without crippling our nation, we need to raise taxes.
Also, I've never understood how people think trickle down actually works. It plain doesnt.

well ill tell you why, because a lot of poor uneducated people vote for the GOP because of their bigoted and ridiculous social platforms. Platforms that appeal to uneducated fucks down south. Then you have all the idiots on the religious right too who fall into the previous category. Then you have the poor stupid people who are part of the 20% of Americans who think that they will be in the top 1% in their lifetime so they vote for the GOP because they think they will help them out in the future.

Now there are plenty of idiots on the Democrats side as well who may vote democratic for various retarded reasons, but facts are facts, and the facts/polling/ demographics show you guys have more stupid people.
