Rental bindings

Hey there!

I have a question. I am a totally newbie if it goes to a freestyle, maybe I tried once or twice a box, never a rail or kickers. I have bought very cheap Armada AR6 with rental bindings just to try some park.

And the question is: will those rental bindings affect so much in my first times in park? Or as a newbie I won't see much differences? They were cheaper than I would rent them for 6 days (I go to les 2 alpes, france for a week soon) so if I will do okay in park I'll buy some new skis and bindings (or just bindings, cause I heard that ar6 is pretty good).

What excactly is the difference? Could you tell me? And when is the time for purchasing some more serious ski gear?

The only difference between a traditional binding and a rental binding are that the rental bindings have a wider range which the heel piece/toe piece can be adjusted. A traditional binding will only have a couple mm of adjustment range.

You can purchase serious ski gear whenever you want. AR 6s are pretty good skis, but when you want to have a complete setup, its fully up to you. Whenever you feel comfortable in the park, you would use it enough and that you wouldnt trash them instantly.

Thanks for additional information! Isnt it something like the rental biding are like a little bit 'higher'? I mean, that the boot is higher from the ski which could affect somehow in easier/harder doing trick?

If you know what I mean, sorry for my english, I am from english speaking country.

they generally have a plate in the middle between the toe and heel pieces, which will raise it a few mm to around a cm, so that they can be adjusted more. generally higher stack height means it is easier to get the ski on edge (more leverage), but that wont make a difference on narrow park skis, especially if you dont know what to look for. lower heights generally lead to a better feel for the snow and slightly better ski control imo, but again not noticeable for a beginner

the height wont make a difference for you because its minimal, and you arent experienced enough to be able to notice a difference.
