Anybody work at an airport or for an airline

threads cause its always seemed like an interesting "working your way through college" job.

It would probly be pretty hard to do at the same time as college unless you did part time

My buddy works at a little airport in central oregon. its awesome. he gets to fly for free so he comes up to portland in the summer to play golf in the day then we go drinking at night.

I do, the most fun job I have had. I only have one flight so it's only a three hour shift but I love it. We get pretty sweet discounts on flights. Also it might be a three hour shift but you only really work hard for 20mins while the plane is on the ground. Mind you this is for a small airport, throwin bags at an international airport is gonna be a lot different and more work intensive as quick turnarounds are key.

Yeah i love airports and airplanes, i always thought it would be fun driving around carts and getting ripped from tossing bags all day. It always seems like an event when airplanes are around. The thing i like the most iis i could probably get the hours i like, evening like noon to 8 at night or 2 to 10. I am def a late riser kind of person

I worked fueling airlines for a summer. Depending on the size of the airport will greatly vary how enjoyable the job is. Working in any part of the airport is certainly something cool to do. Typically the people are quite cool and don't really work too hard. You are responsible for all the flights you get scheduled for. Generally there is no problem but if your last flight of the night gets delayed you will have to hang around until it comes in, but it's no biggie as you're getting paid anyways. Lastly, don't plan on getting baked on the job ever. You go through all sorts of FBI clearances before you can be allowed to work and not be escorted everywhere.

Now as I said this is coming from a medium sized airport. A smaller one might be more chill or different. A large real one would I'm sure be crazy and constant.

My uncle had all his shit stolen by some. so if you see some handlers pocketing shit fuck them up

the job sucked and the pay sucked especially if you are over 6' having to crawl into the cargo area of the planes

same goes for every job ever?

I work at a small airport doing maintenance on small aircraft...







...but part of the job requires me to move airplanes in and out of the hangar, tie them down, fuel them, load them, etc. and that has to be one of the funnest parts of the job. If I could do that on a larger scale and make decent money I'd probably do it for a few years, or even part time for school if I could make the hours work.
