Hey NS. I recently snapped the core on one of the tails of my 2012 Line Chornics (purple ones). Previously I has masterminds for years and i got the chronics for this season. Now I have nothing and need some advice.
My info:
I am 6 foot 1
160ish pounds
i have been riding park for a few years and definitely don't consider myself a beginner. I have been hitting 45+ jumps this year and I can say I prefer jumps
and larger features to small jibs. If I had bigger jumps I'd be hitting
them.
I liked the Chronics a LOT. Liked them for their width and how stiff they were. Only complaint is that they were heavy compared to the masterminds. I also have FKS 14s so this added to the weight. But maybe all skis are this heavy? I also beat the living SHIT out of skis hitting my backyard jibs and urban with the one pair I had. The new pair I'll be getting will be only for on-mountain park and the semi-broken chronics will be for backyard. I have also been getting bad shin bang on booters and I don't know if a stiffer ski can cause this compared to a softer ski.
Anyways I need new skis now for the rest of this season that will hopefully last many seasons. I want a stiff ski, no noodles. Maybe a little more flexy than the chronics but not too soft. I kind of want to avoid line skis but if thats the best option i will go with them again,
Right now I am thinking one of these: (in no particular preference)
2013 Chronics
Line Step-ups
K2 domains
Saloman suspects
Any other ideas?
I really don't know much about any other brands but Line. Price really isn't a problem hoping that these will last at least a few years. (BOMB PROOF)
Thanks and major karma for helpfull answers. Also willing to buy any skis that fit my criteria OR A SINGLE 2012 LINE CHRONIC IF ANYONE HAS A SINGLE FROM A BROKEN PAIR. Help a brotha out!
