Halos or Alpha 1's

Hey ns, i am interested about buying halos or A1s but i'm not sure of which one I really want. I am about 5 10" and weight about 165, I ski 60% rail and 40% jump no big tricks, sometime i like to go ski in the glades and normal tracks and I like to pop around everything. I am not sure of the size I should take.. Thanks!

Halo in 176. Better base for rails and boxes and its not really THAT soft. I have them and yes you can nose butter them moderately easily, but they are by no means noodles. Alphas have a slightly faster but softer base and are a tad bit stiffer, but I would definitely go with Halo's. The only reason I would say Alphas was if the jumps your hitting are 50+ feet.

I say 182. Since you ride every where on the mountain you'll appreciate the extra length. If you only ride in the park and only hit rails then go 176. But since you wanna hit more than just rails go 182. My two cents.

Thanks to both of you, that helped me so you think 182 would be that bad? I have 171 salomon suspects right now will i feel a big difference with the size?

They will feel lighter and have lower swing weight (the Halo's) due to their construction. I went from 166 Suspects to 176 Halo's and the Halos are WAYYY lighter and have much lower swing weight. The 182's should be fine for you, as I live in Minnesota so a larger park ski is not needed in my case. The 182's would be a fantastic fit for you, as I forgot not everyone only has a 200 ft vertical drop at their local mountain (hill).

182's for sure, i've been riding 182 alphas for 3 seasons now and im 5'8. have no problem with the size and the length makes them really dominate outside the park.

They do ride short, I also say go 182. And for sure go with the halos, alpha 1s are primarily a jump ski and like everyone else said the halos can hold their own on everything youd wanna do and are such a fun playful ski!
