so after a 2 year hiatus of not riding/having a bike, i was finally able to get one again. so i'm stoked to be riding again.

so lets see what you guys have, whether it be an old cruiser, sport bike or enduro.

i recently purchased a 2001 cbr f4i 600.

Would an enduro be a good first bike? I have not ridden anything including dirtbikes. I figured learn to ride off road then register it for on road use. Im looking at a 200cc wildfire thats listed for a grand (Chinese make I think). Any opinions?

Never heard of that make. I'd honestly go with one of the big 4 (Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Kawasaki). I had a Chinese bike once and it was complete shit. Honda makes some pretty good enduros.

Dont forget KTM, theyre in the higher price range, but theyre so nice. And the enduro/dual sports are ready to race or ride right out of the shop

The only major problem with those bikes is the regulator/rectifier. It happened to me too. Honestly though, just get a CBR600rr one and retrofit it. Takes about 3 hours when you have no clue what you're doing and it's good as new.

I'll never own another bike as good as that one again. I don't know how to describe it, but the sound and feeling you get being on one is just unreal. It's been 6 month since I've had it, and I can still hear the start up and rev as clear as anything.

One of those, not mine, but look pretty much the same. It is an old norweagian brand (mine is from 74), but still in god shape. It`s only 50cc who sucks.

I have two. And yes, there both considered motorcycles by the DMV, street legal, and titled despite being 70cc's

People talk so much shit about ktm's haha

Theyre actually super high quality bikes, but people hate so they keep the pics of them snapping going around. All the snapped ones I've seen pics of are all like 90's bikes that look like they havent been taken care of.

That happened at the Virginia City GP. Its a super gnarly desert race that brings out about 800+ people to race saturday and 600+ on sunday. Check some videos out on youtube from gopros and stuff. Its a sick race

that looks pretty sick.. i'm not a fan of those style of bikes personally, but looks like you've got a pretty good finished product...

the light blue isnt bad, but i think a bright red with some pinstrips and number would look pretty great too.

that does sound pretty sweet. Ive had so many ideas for this bike and i keep changing my damn mind. Now its all sanded down and bare metal and looking pretty sweet. Im kinda thinking about either just clear coating over the metal or doing a darker gun metal. I need opinions

street bike? cruiser? dirt bike? As far as tune ups, what ive noticed, and its the same with boats, snowmobiles, most anything; The least you do to "tune it up" the least likely it is to break down. Especially on your first bike.

Not sure if anyone answered you yet, but if I were you, I'd start with a 250. It seems silly, but you learn so much more starting that way. I started with a 1985 Honda Rebel 250, and the year after I got a 1986 Honda Shadow 500 (that used to be my dads). I was able to use everything I learned on the smaller bike, plus I felt way more comfortable. This summer I really want to get a CBR600, but that will only happen if I can sell the bike I have.
