I managed to break a piece of my microphone a bit ago and am looking for a solution that doesn't involve buying a new one.
I have a Rode VideoMic. (Not the new small one, but the older bigger one) as seen here:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/363083-REG/Rode_VIDEOMIC_VideoMic_Camera_Mounted.html
The hot shoe adapter piece broke in half when I was trying to pull a snow cover off of the mic. So, I can no longer attach my microphone to my camera. (Canon t2i)
I've been looking around for a replacement piece. Seems like a simple fix. Just something to screw onto the bottom of the mic. I found this as well as a few similar products by different companies:
http://www.amazon.ca/HDE%C2%AE-Tripod-Screw-Shoe-Adapter/dp/B005005EEM
From what I've read, the rode adapter is a 3/8" while this one says it's 1/4". I can't find an adapter with a 3/8", so I'm wondering if they aren't suppose to be the same.
I just want to make sure I'm buying a piece that will fit. Any help is much appreciated!
(PS: I feel that some of you may suggest I buy this:
http://www.amazon.com/HD-Toys-Metal-Replacement-Shoe-Video/dp/B005OOEQJS but that company won't ship to Canada, so I am unable to.)
