that's a tough call. Hyland's is a little more spread out, with some longer rail options, but Elm Creek's park is the shit right now, too, with probably the same amount of features. There's lots of creative shit to hit at both spots... I liked the overall vibe at Elm Creek a little better than at Hyland, and saw less cops there, too.
First off, you probably should have put this in regionals.
Why are you limited to those two places though?
Unless you've been living under a rock, you probably know that Vail resorts bought Afton and is expanding their park. It's also being managed by Snow Park Technologies, meaning their park will most likely be leagues above anything else in minnesota, Elm Creek and Hyland included.
on a side note I dont know why three rivers just doesnt give you an option to put on an extra $100 or something so you can ride at both, because they are both owned by the same parks organization.
It is really fun. I think Hyland was the most fun I've ever had skiing aside from out west. It's crazy though, because I could only ski about 3-4 hours and then I got a huge blister on my ankle (I forgot my ski socks and my other ones got soaked in sweat and moved aroudn too much), yet I still felt like I had a full day skiing because you can literally take a lap in less than a minute.
Ive never been to elm, but go to hyland nearly every day. It's the midwest, not PC or anything, but its still super fun to lap and it has a good variety of jumps and rails.
Never been to elm, but I love hyland. It's typically crowded AF unless you go Monday or Sunday night. But you get 2ft-65ft booters, 6ft-40ft rails, and everything in between on this 150ft high hill.
