I've read up on some other threads but I haven't found the answer im lookin for and i havent seen all these compared in one thread. I have ar7s now and love how they are bomb proof and i go ham. I love to butter and i can do it fine on my ars but i want somethin really flexy. I like how the frs and the halos have rocker but I've never used a ski with rocker before. I want a rocker cause it seems real good for park and butters and presses. Then I seen the thalls and I think the are the flexiest of the 3 and they are the same shape profile that I like with the ars. I ski 98.97% park 95% rails and 5% jumps(nothin or 35ft) and I live in maine also I am 5'8" and 155 so any help would be great. O and k+ for help thanks.

Fr's sound great. If you want to try the rocker, they are the ski to go for as ON3P knows what they are doing with rocker. Also they will be durable for you and soft and buttery, especially after coming off of ar's.

I just tried a pair of filthy riches and I've ridden halos for the past couple weeks. Also own alpha 2s that Ive skied for the past 3 or 4 seasons. First off I absolutely loooooove the halos/alphas. The swing weight on the things is soooo ridiculously light. I dont think theres a ski on the market that can compete with the Alpha/Halos when it comes to swing weight. The filthies were by no means heavy, they just dont stack up to the ease of spinning the armadas. The thing that I really did like about the filthy riches though was the symmetrical shape and flex. Comin from the stiffer and narrower tailed armadas, the on3ps were ridiculous fun and easy to ski switch. Ollies too were so much fun. I even had the chance to take em into a bit of powder and some crud and they held their own. Even when bombing down the hill they never even chattered, which surprised me for how soft and playful the ski felt. I guess thats sort of the character of the ski, playful and soft when needed, but poppy and solid for going fast and hitting bigger features. The other thing that really struck me about them was how bombproof the things looked, the edges were so thick and the bases showed no signs of wear even after I clipped a couple rocks. Ultimately though I'm going to stick with the armadas, the halos are light and super playful. They are slightly stiffer, and stability could be a touch better, and honestly theyd be even more fun if they were symmetrical. However they just shred, especially when carving off jumps or throwin big spins with little air. If I were you though I'd wait for next years Halo 2s, theyre wider and softer in the tails. Should be the perfect combination of the current Halos and the ON3Ps.... Oh and hit me up if you have any other questions, i felt like I was going long.......

I do more jumps then rails but i still like to do rails. Do you think halos are good and stable for jumps? or should I look at another armada ski like the Alpha 1's? Also i'm looking at the Atomic Punx...Know anything about them?

never ridden filthy riches, but between halos/thalls/punx i like my thalls the best. i have heard great things about ON3P's though. although i did see a kid yesterday whose heal pice had ripped out of his FR's, don't know if that was a shop issue or something on ON3P's part.

Halos are far from being a durable ski, Seen a few pairs that got completely fucked in less then a season (massive delams due to the thin tips not taking impacts well)
FR's have far thicker edges and beses, much more carbon fiber (does armada even use any?), and bamboo cores. The core alone is worth purchasing the ski

Never hit anything bigger than about 35ft, the Halos worked great for that! Id go Halos over Alphas just because the softer flex makes them a little more playful, but if you're going really big a stiffer ski might be what you want. Also, the filthy riches slide rails like butter on a hot knife.....

You'd probably be fine with the Halos... I mean hornbeck takes his off 60 footers. I'd just demo both of them, thats the best way to figure it out. If you can't though you'd honestly be fine with either of them...

Lol @ you people
Jacob wester hits JOI sized jumps on halos, just land center and you won't wash out. Aka don't suck and it's not an issue. Same goes for every rockered park ski
