Well i received my rvm a week ago and today I decided to try it but as i plug it in , and go in the audio settings , it goes all the way to the max and i can only hear a huge screeeeech . Still in manual mode , on the lower volume level in the audio settings , i only hear the same sound and almost nothing of my voice . I read on dat web about AGC but looks like i cant disable it on the t3i. Did it happen to some of you? What did you / could I do to solve this? I cant hear absolutely nothing ! Could it be a defect ?

That's odd. Try formatting the memory card? I've used the rode videomic on Canons and Nikons and definitely on the T3i.

That said, I record audio on a a tascam and a zoom H4N, and it's way better than working with onboard camera audio/

You should still have the ACG picking up? Unless they discarded it on the T4i without me knowing.
