I used to swear by final cut, this summer I switch to premiere and I have never looked back. FCP 7 is about 5 years old and is basically FCP 6 with a few tweaks, which is like 8 years old. FCP is behind the times, its slow as fuck on a nice ass computer, its weak as fuck. premiere crushes.

Premiere pro cs6, I recently changed from final cut and I definitively prefer premiere. Wasn't hard to learn it either, I have the same shortcuts on premiere as in final cut witch helps allot.

You really don't have to learn anything new. Premiere CS6 can be set up almost identical to how FCP7 is set up.

That said, I do like Adobe premiere a lot and use it every now and then depending on the project.

yean theres alot of youtube vids out there too, though it took me forever to figure out how to rotoscope, cause its called "masking" in vegas so i had to look around for tutorials a bit.

didn't realize premier was so popular i may have to try it out. I have premier elements on my computer, came preinstalled, maybe i'll give it a go.

i booted up avid and and after a half hour of complete confusion i stuck with vegas haha.

Premiere is popular because it's where everyone from Final Cut went when Apple ruined FCP.

Avid is great once you understand it. It's a very good program if you're used to insert/overwrite style editing.

fuck this program, its literally the shitiest program ever, everytime you cut a clip it connects it to the previous one, the audio is attatched to the video clip below, like WTF IS THIS SHIT

Anyone using speedgrade? Ive been trying the switch from fcp to premiere and I love premiere but have to export to fcp for color. I cannot get my speedgrade to export correctly and I've tried so many damn times

Don't use Speedgrade. It's just not there yet. Maybe in CS7. Resolve Lite is free, and simple.


I prefer Premiere.

Personally I really like speedgrade. I just wish I could bring it back into premiere to edit more like fcp or actually export it

I have two of video editing program in my tool collection.
Final Cut Pro -
Edit videos for relative complicated using
AppGeeker -
comes with basic video editing function (trim, crop, watermark, etc.) and video conversion
I use them for my physical media but I'm sure there's other stuff out there.
