Patagonia 1000 fill down

Any thoughts on this? Seems lighter weight and warmer than anything else out there. Nice and pricey.

Looks sweet! 1000 fill is dope, nice and light, and super packable. $700 seems reasonable, after all, it is Patagonia.

It looks so sick. I'm debating whether or not to get one. so expensive for a jacket even if it is top of the line stuff. I understand why it is that much but damn its hard to justify.

its not 1000 fill, which, is pretty damn super awesome, but way higher steeze factor, plus youll make every one in the hood super jelly, and youll probably get robbed

The 1000 fill power is pretty gimmicky - they don't even post the fill weight.

Still pretty slick, though.

must be warm!

but a jacket is worthless to me if i need to worry about its ridiculous value. i wouldn't actually want to use it because i'd be so afraid of shredding it.

i have an ultralight down jacket, and its so ridiculously warm. i couldn't imagine wearing much more.

Fill power is a very relevant statistic to have when comparing weight to warmth. I was actually just looking to see if I could find the fill weight and nothing as of this point one way or the other

I am well aware of the importance of fill power. I'm aware of the importance on the maturity of down plumes, ratio of down to feather, etc.

But really, it is all for naught if you don't have fucking fill weight.

How do you compare this jacket, roughly, to something with 600 fill power? 700? 850? 900? Well you can't because one two crucial variables is omitted.

patagonia doesn't post the fill weight for any of their down jackets. Similarly they don't post waterproof ratings or breathability ratings. Idk why they don't but all this information can be gotten if you call them or use the live chat feature to contact mail order.
