I can point out several 1.8l Honda's that run 9's.

These days technology is a huge replacement for displacement. And I missed where the original poster said POST PICS OF YOUR DRAG CAR... I doubt this guy daily drives this thing. Plus its not even yours! theres NO FUCKING REASON to come here and insult people because your friend has a fast* car. I have a lot of friends with fast cars, so what.

Actually, no, that Mach 1 has been in his family since it was new. He has kept the thing since his dad gave it to him when his dad became unable to work on cars. It's never needed to be 'restored' its in original condition except for the brakes which have been upgraded.

I just find it amazing how everyone runs these riceburners and really thinks theyre hot shit. Yeah D-locs friends car might be pretty nice but look how much is done just to run just under 10. I bought my car for $500 from a junkyard. Spent maybe $4,000 restoring it, and then some 10K or so on an engine. Huge 426. I modded it out myself using my hands. No company making me custom bs parts. All muscle. And I run lower ET's then that pos skyline

If I knew anything about cars, sorry, I don't you know, live, breath, and work on cars every day of my life man. Inexperience has a lot to do with that, and I know a 360 shoved into a Duster isn't going to be a fast car without a lot more work done to it than you said. Thats like claiming that an old school Crown Vic is fast just because the police package has a 351 in it. You have to factor weight in and Dusters are far from light, you have to factor power and torque over the RPM range, you have to factor how the tranny is, the gear ratio in the rear end. If he has 2.73's that things not going to go anywhere, but if he has 4.10's then its going to get up and move pretty good. Trust me, a high torque RWD car is not a smart choice for daily driving, especially with gas prices the way they are. I drive a 91 Mustang GT around when my car is down for mods or repairs, and that thing is killer on gas, and its a pain to drive in anything but dry weather.

There you go, thats why it has 'fast throttle response' because it has low gears, now that 4 speed auto, is there a high stall converter, and is it built at all to withstand the torque, or is it something he just pulled out of the junkyard.

And no, I won't get off your fucking case, you were the retard that brought up how you were goign to waste everything on the board in your friends car, so you're goign to ahve to prove to me you know what you're talking about or you're going to get flamed. Post some timeslips, or just shut the fuck up about it. You can't claim something like that, especially being 16, I'm sorry, but at 16 you just don't know shit, and nothing you say will change that view. Put up or shut up.

To the kid with the 426, same thing, prove it to me with timeslips and more information or you're goign to get flamed.

I drive a SHO because I love the car, Its a hell of a lot faster than a 325is, and I'm track racing it next year. The Yamaha motor in the SHO lends itself to track use a hell of alot better than the 325i's inline 6 because it has a flat torque band and it revs high. The years the SHO was released it was superior the 3 series in every way shape or form. That just proves how you don't know what the fuck you're talking abou.

the 325is has better suspension and in my opinion RWD is much more fun to drive, also the 325is is much lighter

Not that much lighter, 200 lbs, and RWD doesn't matter to me as I like to be able to get up hills when I go to ski. Also, the SHO out handles the BMW's in the same years of production, the SHO puts down better skidpad and slalom results than the same year 325i.

RWD just isn't feasible as a daily driver where I live. I enjoy my car and the FWD doesn't bother me.

anyway, i'm waiting for something huge to break in my car, because, if it ever does, it becomes a project car. can we say STI (i think it's 2.5)turbo + 6MT?! forget the fact that'll cost $8k....... it'll be sick as hell though, and be a total sleeper car!
until then, just rev the hell out of my 1.8, and keep teaching myself how to actually drive. that way, when i can afford a fast rig, i can HANDLE a fast rig.

I have a Saab 900 from 1988. The perfect skibumming car for a person like me (spends all his money on skis and equipment for the winter...)


During the summer I had a brand new '05 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Petter Solberg Edition, borrowed directly from Subaru. I used a bit in my job by driving celebs and hotel residents to the beach and nightclubs here in town. Drove my personal hero Sverre Lilliequist (seen in Swedish Posse and the Nuit de la Glisse movies)

My 94' seville STS...it does a 14.5 quarter and is the only car I know that spins it's tires from 60mph-80mph while passing....lowering kit and lexani dubs on the way (backordered). dynomax mufflers is the next mod I plan to do. and I have factory bose :)
