I'm TAing a different class than I usually do this semester (Government and Politics of California) and I don't know if it's the students or the material or what, but I feel like the students are dumber than in the class I usually TA (United States government and politics).

Don't even get me started I am on the quarter system and the winter quarter is short as a babies dick and all 4 of my classes were on different testing schedules. I have had a midterm a week since the 6th week of school. It has sucked mad cocks n dicks. I had one last week, and I have one friday that is two parts so the other part is next monday. YAY ME I AM SO HAPPY MY PARENTS "PUSHED" ME SO HARD TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL.

I got 54% on my calculus mid term. Super mad at the mistakes I made. Also super mad that the prof wont scale a test where the class average was 50% and only one person got higher than a C.

the average was in the low 60s. they have to curve ochem as well as most upper division science courses otherwise too many kids will do terrible

Same here. I'll never understand why they curve intro courses where almost everyone is lazy as fuck and a low average is expected, but wont curve an upper-level course where everyone is busting their asses.

In a course last semester our class average was 42% on a mid term and he didn't scale it.

my thought exactly. if the average is that low, he either made the questions far beyond what should be expected for the class, or failed to teach the material.

imo grades should always be curved. teachers shouldnt be able to fail an entire class

he will if the 2nd exam and final pan out the same way.....dont stress too much about it honestly take my word for it. only thing you can do is score good on the next too. just take my word for it that hes not gonig to end all of your lives with this one class

i'm sure he will scale it at the end of the semester, but I'd rather have each exam scaled separately so I know what mark I have.

the math department at my school has had fail rates as high as 70% in the past. They haven't done that in awhile though.

I'm on a quarter system so i just finished my finals. got RAILED on calc III and physics II. My grade dropped a full letter grade in both classes. i'm very surprised i scraped out a 3.2 gpa after those tests

Had a calc midterm yesterday that I thought was pretty easy, and I have stats tonight which shouldn't be to bad. But i'v been sick for like 2 weeks so that makes life 100x more difficult.

a lot of college math teachers are asians who barely speak english and couldn't care less if they fail everyone. last semester a couple of my friends took a very low level freshman math course that half the class failed because the teacher didn't teach anything and didn't understand that the questions were impossible. math is not our specialty here...

i have an exam about vikings on monday. it's gonna be awesome

do you mean like statistical thermodynamics? or is it actually a quantum chem class? I would imagine that a quantum mechanical treatment of chemistry would be a pain in the ass haha. Just plain quantum mechanics is tough enough.
