Hi M&A

I just dropped another edit, not as clean as Bloody Ink, I was trying to make them similar like a sequel to bloody ink.

If you have any feedback id really appreciate it.

I liked it better than your last edit in all honesty. "Not being clean" is not always a bad thing, especially when the songs is also a little rough on the edges. I only had a few gripes:

-Song was too fast-paced for how much slo-mo was used
-Audio seemed way too "artificial" to my ears . Do a little less fading on the audio and it would've been much better.
-Was not a fan of the motion tracked text at all. Would've been way better to just have static text. I personally believe tracking text is horribly used 9/10 times in ski edits.

Hope that didn't come out too critical, the edit was flawless apart from those three things.

0:25 was one of the most original shots I've ever seen in skiing, what fl(although I wouldn't have used it twice)? and I'm loving the audio more than usual for some reason, not a fan of the song just cause I've overlistened to the album.

SO many what the fuck landings, that guys is ridiculous.

0:59 prob should have been cut in my eyes.

Those tele glide shots are getting even more awesome.

Not enough mack jones! haha

For most shots of the edit your blacks were really crushed and sometimes the skier became part of the trees

I agree with the comment about the titles above but the filming was on point man!

I absolutely loved the shots at :25 1:14 and 1:56

One thing that got me was that that song was just used in a pretty high rated edit last week or the week before, but pretty much every a$ap song has been by now.

I liked how you timed the landings with the song, it really helped. Also that was some crazy awesome skiing. I liked that your were on the knuckle a lot too, there was a good blend and pacing of each angle, it worked togeather really well. I would say this is your most interesting edit in my books, nice job.

But, I would work on tracking your subject a little better on the knuckle shots... I know the hd4000 setup isn't very nimble, but it's annoying to have the skier bounce in and out of frame during the trick.

some of the shots were too disorienting for me. i did like the wide shots on the lip of the jump but there were too many of them I think. also try using a tripod again

not trying to bash you here but I really dislike what you do with your colors, the trees are pretty much black at times and it just makes it look really flat, bland and adds a very boring feel to your edits. I also felt kind of disconnected while watching this, it seemed that it was completely silent except for what sounded like audio doene in post. It also felt too slow paced for my liking

but on the brightside your tele glide shots are abosultey fucked up sick.

As always, the filming and the skiing was great. I love that song but I don't think it fit the edit well.

I think it was sickk. I read some of the comments and people say they didn't like the music or the trailing text. Personally I thought both were pretty complimentary to the video. Only thing I can really say is to get more Mack Jones in there

Yeah, that was dope. I felt like most of the shots are too much of the same though at times. And the edit ended too abrupt. Other than that, your shots are on point.

i think to me it was more the difference in the look that did it.
you see so many edits nowadays filmed wide with a pretty big dof. It's nice to see a change of pace that the long lens brings

To be honest I watched this and I thought it was probably the sickest edit I have seen in a very long time. Great filming, insane skiing. I've watched it at least 10 times now

That was absolutely sick... Loved the long lens shots and how absolutely dynamic everything is.


That said, now my eyes hurt from the constant movement and the brainmelting landings those guys were pulling out.

edit was dope! there were only two things that stood out to me that i would have changed -
1. like someone said before, i dont like how the blacks were crushed because the skier disappeared in the trees sometimes and it was hard to see the trick. for example the shot at 1:14 i lost the skier for a little bit. pause at 1:16. skier is no where to be found.
2. i really like the long lens glides. i know how difficult those are too keep the skier in the frame the whole time but i felt that they were cut to quickly. i would have liked to see more of the long lens shot instead of a quick cut to the wide angle.

other than those two minor imperfections i thought the edit was well done. good work!

It's intrusting because I've seen many gapers showing their edits on Newschooler and they didn't got that much hate...

Wasn't a fan of the song personally. It worked well I guess, but just didn't really like it. Really cool angles, know the :25 has already been said, but big fan of that.

I know you're going for different angles, which is good, but the angles with dark jackets and trees make it sorta hard to watch sometimes. Not that many of your shots are like this but a few made me think this. Maybe its just my monitor. But Whistler has such a fucking sick backdrop, don't be afraid to show it off.

Sick edit, loved those tele glidecam shots. The main thing I found was that the audio sounded kind of fake and over processed/in post. Also at 2:01 the skier blends in with the trees in the background
