First trip to Colorado; 2 questions

Will it suck trying to ski the whole mountain on my Afterbangs? So far I've only skied in NJ, PA, and MO on flat hills with fake snow and ice so I don't have much to go on.

Is there any way to get discounted lift tickets to Breckenridge? I know that you can get discounted sports tickets at certain grocery stores where I live so idk if something like that exists for skiing or not.

You will still be able to ski all over with your afterbangs, it will just limit how much fun you can have outside the park. If you get a pow day while you are there, then i would suggest to demo some pow skis for that day. But you should be fine for all mountain stuff. It just wont be as fun when you leave the groomed runs.

As far as discounted lift tickets: Check liftopia.com. The only other discounts I know of is ski with a friend. So if you know someone who has a season pass, they can get you a small discount

It's hard to get discounted Vail resort tickets (Vail, Breck, Keystone, Beaver Creek).

If you know someone who has a season pass, you can use a buddy pass, which will get you a cheaper ticket through them, but they are limited with how many they have.

You can buy 2 for 1 coupons for Copper or Winter Park on ebay, or find them when you're out there. Or, you can go to a shell station in CO and get skifree 2 for 1 vouchers for those resorts when you buy 10 gallons of gas and get your voucher and receipt stamped. I just bought a bunch of those off of ebay for our family's trip.

As for the afterbang question, you'll be fine riding them. I go out west every year with 80-90mm waisted park skis and i've never had any problems, even on deeper days. With the way this seasons going, you shouldn't have any problems from that aspect.

You will be fine but if youre lookin to ski everywere with ease you might want to look into demoing some skis

Your afterbangs will be fine. Breck is flat, does not get powder, and is even more crowded than your east coast resorts.

We're driving there so we will be able to bring weed

How does demoing work, is it just another word for renting or is it free like a test drive? I don't really want to waste a salesman's time since I have zero interest in buying another set of skis.

Idk, I mean maybe its because I grew up skiing Breck but I've always loved all the lines around brecky big mtn, theres some pretty gnarly cliffs around lake chutes, trees on peak 10 are fun and t bar is dank on a good day. It's definately not as good as say east vail or beaver creek for natural terrain but It doesnt suck either IMO

I just got back from 10 days skiing Vail and for reasons i explained on here in another thread, all i had to ski on were my 11/12 Afterbangs. I'd have liked to have some different skis but instead I paid $10 for a wax and tune and the ABangs were fine. We had some amazing pow days and I skied the back bowls and had loads of fun. If you can ski well then you'll be OK. Sure there are better skis to be on but you'll still have fun. Demo-ing skis in Vail still costs around $40 a day, I didn't find anywhere that would let me demo for free and I'd imagine Breck is the same. We managed to make friends with some guys who lived in Vail and they had some $50 lift pass coupons that they gave us. Otherwise, its hella expensive, $129 per day. You get a discount if you book online, I think you get $150 off a 5 day pass if you buy online.

Also dont go to breck, shit sucks, go to vail, the beav or keystone.

oh nice I didnt know you left Creek, I actually hadn't gone there this year until last Sunday, its so boring. we have a ski in/out place at breck so I know we will be there at least 2 out of 3 days.

word dude, if you shred thurs/friday I have those days off work! I never go to breck cuz it sucks compared to keystone, but i wouldnt mind going there one last time.
