Ableton CPU Overloading

Recently, my Ableton has been spiking massively. A month ago I almost never had any problems with CPU spiking, and now, when I'm not even halfway done with my track it will spike to over 100% at certain parts.

I freeze almost all of my tracks when I can, and I am running Ableton on an HP Envy 14 with multi-core i7 processor. I even got a cooling pad to keep my computer from overheating. It still gets pretty warm, but not so much that it would be spiking this much..right?

I've looked online and done pretty much everything, and I'm kind of stuck. I am using a torrented version of Live 8 Suite, so maybe it's somehow slow or something? I have never had this problem before so I am kind of confused.

Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

now that you are bussing everything out your computer is working 3times as hard as it used to. I would consolidate everything in arrangement, that seems to reduce CPU usage significantly for me. and if you're on a laptop make sure to be plugged in to a power source at all times because ableton likes to act weird when your battery is low.

Yeah I always have it charging now. I've noticed that even with a cooling pad my computer still gets pretty hot, so I think it might have to do with overheating. I am going to try and clean out my laptop to get rid of dust and see if that helps.

Make sure you're running Ableton in 64 bit mode.

Generally having stuff in audio will save you loads of CPU power, when this stuff happens I just bounce parts to audio. Pretty much always solves the problem. Kind of odd that you're experiencing this problem considering your computer is defiinitely a fair bit faster than mine and this never happens to me, unless I run like 12 instances of Diva on highest quality...

How many tracks do you have? Are you using a lot of automation? Huge FX chains? Lots of different synths?
