Demo Bindings Vs. Regular bindings PLUS K FOR BUMPS

Hey,
im debating about getting demo bindings. the reason for this is because i dont want to have to remount my skis if i get a bigger boot. is this a good idea? my options are the jester demo, atomic ffg demo, the sth12 driver regular or the t.h peak 12s regular.please give input PLUS K FOR BUMPS

Personally, I would get regular bindings. You could save a little bit on weight. But, if you feet are still growing, then demo bindings may not be a bad idea.

Demo bindings are pretty awful. Unless you weigh like 100 pounds.

Get Sth drivers have them mounted all the way forward so that you can adjust them back a lot if your feet grow

Demo bindings suck. They are heavy, put you high off the ski, and since there are more components to move things, there are more things to break.

Just get normal bindings. Most have a fair amount of adjustment, so even if you go up a shell size, you should be covered. Not to mention I would HIGHLY recommend remounting a pair of skis once (hell, even twice) over using demo bindings that long.

Don't buy FKS if you want to be able to adjust. Or do buy FKS, and just redrill if you get new boots.

demo bindings really mess up a direct mount ski(bindings drilled into core).  They make the ski feel like crap with dead spots.  The metal track that was referred to is very heavy vs regular bindings.  you have about +- 15 mm on your BSL once drilled.  usually one shell size up or down.

this is not entirely true.. Jester Demos are no taller than the normal jester. The only difference is more adjustment for the heel and now the toe piece has adjustment too.

The nice thing about demos is you can mount them so you can adjust where you are mounted. You dont have to follow the boot sole lengths on them, you can screw the adjuster all the way forward for a more center mounted position, or all the way back for a more all mountain position.

Gotta think outside the box on that one..

this affects the flex point of the ski not being directly underneath the midfoot of your boot.

The track in the toe has a larger 5 hole pattern than the normal toes do. Whatever benefit you think you have isn't worth it - go for a schizo if you want to mess around with mounts, go with a stock binding and remount if you are growing on boot sizes. The extra moving parts effect durability and longevity of the binding, across all the demo from many brands that we've used here. Demos should also get torque checked yearly, have fun with that.
