I designed sunglasses! What do you guys think? - Calero Sunglasses

Well I've taken a bunch of time off from skiing this winter to work on the sickest shades around!

They're called Calero Sunglasses and our first model is "The Gator"

They're made of TR90 Grillamid Nylon (just like many of those $100 shades)

That's exactly why he's making such great profit margins... we are only looking to have 2000 injection molded which is not a big number in the injection molding industry and is not nearly as cheap.

Looking through his site, there is no way that the majority of those are TR90 frames either...

I was looking into manufacturing processes and we're going to do Polarized on all of the lenses.

TR90 Grillamid (by far the most important feature, not many glasses in this price range have this)+Polarized+snapping hinges= Not just another shitty wayfarer.

If you continue to produce the current model in the pictures you put up i would try putting the company logo on the temples, because lets face it sunglasses with that similar design have the logo on the side. Now you then consider well would that be setting our selves apart from the rest by not having it? I would say no because how else are you gonna get people to think about your brand?

And the sunglasses posted above the ones with the wire frames, i think that you should REALLY consider designing a pair of those. Any monkey can go on solid works and design a 3 piece frame send the plans to a plastic injector and make it. But the wire frames? Consider it i would defiantly purchase a pair.
I hope that is constructive. Nice job so far i would defiantly wear a pair and would consider buying them. but think out side of the box!

As much as op's sunglasses line is probably shitty wholesale bullshit, overpriced sunglasses are bunk as fuck.


Whenever I hear people bitch about how they broke lost or somebody stoke their $150 sunglasses I really feel no pity.

My sunglasses might not be shatter resistant but at 10 bucks or less I couldn't care. If I break em I'll just use another pair. And they don't have "optically correct lenses". I've never walked around in the summer and thought, "Gee I really wish these sunglasses had optically correct lenses"


Imo it's a fucking waste.

Not at all, when I want sunglasses I go to the corner store and spend 10 bucks on a pair. Simple cost benefit analysis really will spending 20x on a nice pair be worth 20x more to me...no chance because they will inevitably end up getting lost/ broken, and on top of it you dont have to stress about messing up your glasses all the time. Polarized is nice but honestly I bet if you told people lenses were polarized they would have no idea if they weren't or were.
