Creating a Collective type business...but names are tough. Suggestions..thoughts?!

So i plan on setting up a media business based on my lifestyle. It would incorporate photo/video/music and all other things in life. Me and my buddy Kevin Monahan would be the basis of the collective.

I was thinking Threyedo (Third Eye Documentation) or we were also thinking Monaganom. Its our last names combined but when it spell it backwards its the same thing.

We wanted to think of words that inspired others to create. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Ideally we would have a music studio/ photo video studio. Host festivals, shows, and events. everything.

I mean, follow your dreams and all, but aren't there enough of these already? it seems like everyone and their mother in this awful bass music scene is trying to startup their own promotion/media company. not trying to dash your dreams or anything, just being realistic.

well-done videos nonetheless.

no no your right. Right now i am a festival child and love festivals. so id love to highlight the biggest festys in the world. but i would work for corporations and other companies such as Smirnoff, Conair, Lily Pullitzer. All the big time payers i was shooting photos for with this other pro photographer back home in CT. eventually, ill have to do those types of things.

right now im tampa, Wompaholics brings in artists and they need a filmer. so i pick up jobs like that. This dancer wants me to do a promo video/photos for her so ill be doing that as well. The collective grows and evolves over time. and can go in any direction. so all this shitty bass music crap will come and go...or stay if it proves successful.

but yes ur right i still am trying to be as realistic as possible...and all this is possible. just not NOW in time. but it will come. ive still got 2.5 years of college left

ideally id want to host a music festival at a mountain kinda like Moe.Down. film it and cover all aspects of that. i could do a half ski/half concert edit. like thatd be SICKKKK

doing media for festies would be a lot cooler than doing media for a stupid dubstep scene. and if you can put together a festival, go for it! I'd attend for sure. I'm outta CT too! born in Weston, now in Kent. I assume you're also from the 203?

holy shit weston. im from fairfield lol! but yeah man im really tryina host a music festival. i was thinking vermont too. theres no giant campgrounds there and it would repair the economy there. music on weekends. all that..we will see as time goes by!

u ever go to Devils Den? the cliff jump in weston? im like 5 minutes from there on the fairfield line

Don't call it a collective. Everyone is a part of a collective, or started one, or works for one.
I think you'd be best off giving it a simple name that relates to what you do: filming.
Make a youtube page or something, post good content, let the viewers and recognition come.
If you're already making videos like the ones you put up there I don't see why you couldn't amass some youtube followers and get some interest that way.

Seems like you're looking too far down the road to me, from your post it sounds like you essentially want to produce videos, own a nightclub, and organize festivals? Waaayyyy overambitious, start small with what you do well (filming), get some contacts, be patient, and then move onto the bigger things when the time is right. "Rome wasn't built in a day," so to speak.

You want something very easy to read yet memorable. The monagoram or whatever the fuck that is won't work.

Threyedo is cool, but I would simplify it to Threydo. It sounds better and looks interesting.

Think of all the brand names that are the most well known names out there. Google. Pepsi. Nike. They are extremely simple and clean. I'm not saying your business is the same as theirs, but as far as brand name, you have to go with what works.

oh I haven't lived in Weston since I was like 5 years old, but I still have some friends in FFLD. do you know Matt Hood? Ben Tice? Kendall Kolenik? I'm basically down with all the wooks from there haha.

Technically what we are doing is Documentation of Being a Collective. but yes your right i need to start small and i am. but i still need to have some type of crazy dream to look forward to. but always working on the now. im becoming known in Tampa and sorta famous. so its working out so far. i just need a name....

dude i grew up with matt hood. the kids becoming some EDM trap king or whatveer he wants to call himself hahah. his stage name is M3H and hes out in boulder now making music. so crazy man haha

In all honesty I think the name you came up with at the top is pretty good, but maybe for the sake of appearances drop the second "E" and call it "threydo" or "3do" or something. Has a nice ring to it I think.

It has a sweet actual definition both noun and verb. Also you get to use an ox as a logo which is cooler.
