IT really depends what kind of fishing resort you're going for..
there are two main camps/resorts that i, and im sure other people, mostly go for.. you'll have the big resort where people will have everything included, and theyll go out fishing with a guide and have all the proper equipment and catch lots of fish, then give them to someone once they get back to shore, and that person will clean them for them and then cook them and they get served to you for dinner. Sleep in beautiful 5 star cabins and do the same every day.
Other people prefer the "getting away from the city" type of fishing camp. this is what i usually go for because i love being out in the wild and doing my own thing.. Small log cabin with just what you need, you have someone who comes by everyday to change the propane tank or pick up your garbage, if u need tips and tricks for fishing or want a guide, they can help. But over all, youre left alone.
The camp i used to go to with my dad, we took a little 5 passenger plane way into the middle of no where, landed on a lake and from there a small boat was waiting for us, grabbed it and made our way to a small cabin on a lake. no neighbours, no one at all for miles.
There are certain things that are always nice to have, like a small cabin to clean the fish so youre not doing it outside with all the bugs, or youre not doing it where youre sleeping. It's nice to be on a clean beach where u can swim without having to worry about leeches or wtv else.. Showers are always a nice bonus, (i would of liked one, especially after 5 days of fishing and gutting fish). Guides are for sure a bonus. i remember the very first camp i went to, there were i think 20 ish different lakes we could fish at, and after two days, we only caught small fish and nothing too impressive. so we ended up asking the owner if he would come out and show us some tricks, he acted as our guide and it was the best fishing day ever, he knew the spots and the tricks. the days that followed, we didnt need him any more and we still caught a bunch of fish. At every fishing camp ive gone to, its the little details that i loved. Ice for your cooler, u had to go to the barn and dig in wood chips to find big blocks of ice barried (wood chips keep them cold) or at one camp, right in the middle of the resort, there was a cabin which was all screened in, and everyone would go there to clean out their fish, so you would talk to the other people staying there and talk about your fishing day and see the fish they caught, etc...
