This is really starting to piss me off so I figured I'd see what you all in M&A have to say about it. I know Facebook isn't the optimal site to share photos, but I like to put most of mine up there just for fun and because my friends are in a lot of them. On rare occasions I'll upload something and it'll be tack sharp, then I'll upload another photo with the EXACT same settings and it'll look terrible.
Take this photo for example, reasonably sharp for Facebook quality right?

Settings were 400dpi, jpeg, 1000x667, 654kb
Then I upload another photo.. exact same settings, and it looks like this:

I've tried using 96dpi since supposedly that's about the max that will be noticeable on most monitors (just read that on some random sites) and lowering dimensions, using png's and other formats, saving for web & devices, and they all look like shit. So I'm wondering for any of you that upload to FB a lot, what settings do you use and how do they work out?
