I have no clue which marker binding is best for what im looking for. I weigh 140 5'8 and ride park pretty consistently. Can 540, surface swap etc etc. Really looking for something thats either marker or look
Don't get schizos, they're sooo heavy. I can't speak about Look but if you're set on Marker the griffons seem like a solid choice. I am your exact same height, weight and skill level and I have never had problems with my griffons.
Pivots/FKS. I have some reissue 140s and old 12s and they are both great. If those are a little pricey, the PX12s are also an excellent choice. I would say that I have 100 days on pivots and 250 on PX12s and they are hands down the best alpine binder I have owned.
Do not get the Z series if you're skiing park. You WILL break the toe piece. The STH series is good. Tyrolia/4frnt/Head and Look/Rossi make good bindings.
People think they will break, just from looking at the design. I thought the same too, but mine have been solid for 3 years on one of my setups. Two reported failures online caused by user error also make people think they suck. Used correctly, they're fine but only get them if you genuinely need to move between true centre and -3 or more.
Markers have never ever done me wrong. I use Jesters and Jesterpros
You have to mount them right though. Most techs just go right ahead and drill them to a certain torque spec, that's a no with these bindings. When Mounting the toe piece you can't go too tight or else they just strip or the plastic piece actually starts to wing out. When doing the heel piece you just need to make them tight enough so that there is no gap between the ski and the heel plate. If you do this you will never have a problem with the bindings
They look like griffons/jesters that can accommodate AT boots. Only get those if you have an AT sole. Otherwise there's no difference. These'll probably cost more too. Totally irrelevant to the OP.
