please andy ski with poles you have mad style and no poles just isnt where its at...i mean its all about personal opinion but dude i think poles look so much cooler...

skiing with poles in the park is like when peopole used to ski on long straight skinny skis back in 1990. everyone thought fat skis were gay, cheating and just not cool. now everyone is on fat skis. i think skiing with out poles in the park has potential to go the same direction as fat skis did 10 years ago.

he can do what he wants, and the trends my be no poles eventually, but i need poles. it probably would help your balance, because i tried the park last year with no poles and nearly killed my self

well were kind of at a crossroads here with a quasi no poles movement, and some upstart core pole companies springing up, it will be interesting to see which way the ski community goes

if skiing with no poles becomes the order of the year i will either ignore everyone else and keep my poles or i will quit and start snowboarding. like i said before, POLES ARE A PART OF SKIING!!! and EC is right. no matter how steezy you make no poles look, it still looks stupid.

im not asking anyone to ride without poles. do whatever the hell you want. but at the same time...you shouldnt be asking me to ride with them. because i do when i feel like it. if you cant accept it, then maybe you should do like the guy above said and snowboard.

props to not letting anyone else tell you what to do. fuck those motherfuckers. mainsteam opinion tends to be stupid usually. when did you stop using poles anyways?

personally i like poles and i think they're really handy when traveling the mountain from place to place. but i'm sure andy has a mean skate instead (what about deep pow? do you use poles then?).

what about when you get in a disagreement on the hill? poles are excellent weapons and kicks don't have the same reach. what then andy? boss hog knows all about my mean pole swing technique, i have a pole bent in two places from his skull. you can't do full ski-jitsu without your poles and board-fu might have the potential to over power you. i hope you have some crazy capoeira ninja steez instead, the mahreinator has some tricks up his sleeve i'm sure

fair enough andy i get that, you enjoy riding the park how you want. that's the same philosophy snowboarders that are chill with skiing apply so i'm down with that, and it's also the philosophy i apply to snowboarders (not snowlerbladers though - don't get me started).

i gotta ask you though, why is it that on the k2 site it says you've been riding without poles for a few years now, but at superpark this year you rode with poles a bit and in every shot of you in X you are wearing poles? maybe i'm wrong, cuz i didn't actually re-check to see if you were, and correct me if i am.

that was you at superpark wasn't it?

i havent ridden without poles for even a full season. just cuz i dont use them doesnt mean i cant. shit, there is nothing wrong with using them, and i do sometimes...but sometimes i dont...but the best idea of the day is to let this thread die. superpark...i rode day 1 without them...day 2 half n half...day 3 i used them all day. timberline i used them the first half of summer...and not at all for the 2nd.

Also, just because Pollard used to ski without poles and then decided to use them because he thought it was better or for whatever reason proves absolutely nothing. In fact, it proves that the man we 'worship' decided that no poles isnt as good as yes poles, so yeah. Lets be reasonable.

maybe it's just cuz i'm used to them but i think that poles just look so much stylier. also, you can't ride anywhere else. if i saw someone riding pow or a groomer without poles it would be even weirder than in the park. no poles sorta looks like aerials. also, because people don't actually SKI without poles it also connotates that you can't ride anywhere other than the park, and i know you don't care what people think, but you know. and i just think no poles looks ugly and unco.

it seems like this stage of life for a lot of people around our age is like when you are playing a video game and you beat the Final Boss, only to find out that was just a decoy Final Boss and the real Final Boss is about 50x harder. and on top of that, you used all your special tricks to beat the Decoy, and you are also low on life. and you have a crappy third party controller.
