Well I want to take my girlfriend skiing the only problem is that she's never been in like a one mile radius of a ski hill. How do you think this will turn out?also should I not bother doing it?

if you want to devote the day to taking her down the easy runs, go for it. personally I'd never do that unless she had a friend also coming who could stay with her while I go ski. then you can stay with her for an hour, ski for 2, and repeat.

Only problem that I see with it is that she may get frustrated then not listen when you try helping and then nobody is happy... My suggestion would be to have her get a lesson

Yeah makes sense to do that if she knew how to ski so ill just stay with her for the day and help her out

it gets frustrating for both of you.

i tried and its easier to get like a 2 hour private lesson. you ski alone for 2 hours then by the time she is done the lesson you guys can kinda just slowly go down greens and have fun. just be patient.

if shes the kind of girl that you can laugh and have fun with while you teach her something that's hard to pick up in one day. also don't plan to ski the whole day- just a couple hours

Don't let her fall. You will never hear the end of it. Also,If teaching 5yr olds taught me anything,if its cold don't let her stay out too long

but in all seriousness I wouldn't do it. 9 times out of 10 it will end up to be a bad day for the both of you. Give her the gift of a lesson or something so she can catch the basics.

Well I think I figured this out thanks to your guys help I'm going to get her a one or two hour lesson the ski with her for few hours on greens with lodge breaks as needed and call it a day while she's still happy.

the pink names on here are here for a reason.. If your girl hasn't skied before she will not want to stay out all day learning.. the girls on here would stay out and shred park with you all day i would guess..
but you wouldn't make the thread if your girlfriend was like that.
so due to this the guys here will have experience in taking girls out to ski if you get what i mean

hey there.. my boyfriend of 2 years had never been skiing or snowboarding.. I took him on vacation this past week to andorra and he did 3 day 3 hours of lesson deal and picked it (snowboarding, his choice) up real quick.. not fast enough to really keep up this time.. but he met some british dudes in his lesson and made homies with them so he had someone to hang with while i did my own thing. worked out awesome.. by day 6 he was able to get around more or less anywhere with decent speed and minimal pathetic falling. pretty chill.. stoked to get him progressing soon.

while she skis, why don't you snowboard. The majority of my friends can't keep up with me if i'm skiing, so I will usually just snowboard with those friends. Then that way we're both relatively on the same level and no one's having a miserable day (other than the fact i'm not on skis). With a girl then at least you'll both be learning and making a fool out of yourselves rather than her getting embarrassed by herself. And then you can still be there and give her pointers. Dunno just a thought.
