Why is everyone these days labeling their vids as, "yeah man you know, i'm just kinda doin whatever" while they are throwing down gnarly bs 450s and cork 9s. I thought we were off this trend after CLAIM came out.

So if your trying at all you couldn't possibly be having a fun mellow day? i see that kid at stowe occasionally and he's always throwing down like that. People are always stoked to see others throw down, and if people are pumped then theres no way it was easy for him right? To address your op i admit it is somewhat ironic but often people probably are just having a mellow fun day. I still fall sometimes on tricks i've been able to do for 5 years. And your basically arguing over nothing

front 4's legit are second nature to me. blind 4's just behind that. a 2 onto a thigh high urban style rail is stock for me, and i'm pretty sure i'm far from "pro." today in my second run at a park i hadn't ridden in weeks, i threw a cork 7. and i'm not even good at jumps, compared to tons of dudes out west.

point is OP, just because these tricks aren't front 2s doesn't mean they aren't mellow for many people

it doesn't matter what tricks you mentioned. since a mellow trick is subjective to each skier, you can't ever tell someone that their "mellow" edit isn't "mellow."

the fact that they even feel the need to mention it is mellow says something about how they are trying to impress anyways....... like "damn this edit sucks, oh wait...he said its mellow....nvm"

if you want to go with the "who cares shut up analysis" you can say "who cares if this edit was a mellow day, im still impressed" leaving no need to mention it in the first place. I'm am officially done posting on this thread, rejoice.

doubles are pretty chill these days, if you go through black park in Whistler on a bluebird day you'll see 5-10 people I know throwing various doubles.

There are 3 reasons to title an edit like that.
1) You're actually doing your stock tricks and probably filmed the whole line(s)
2) You're joking
3) You made an edit with your best tricks but are trying to pretend you have better ones. (this is probably 90% the edits)

I'm going to go ahead and say LJ Strenio could double backflip with no hesitation on any day. Have you ever seen the video of him throwing a double back first hit ever on a jump at PC? If he can double the first hit on the jump, it's safe to say he can double like it's his job. oh wait a sec...

if someone knows of that clip of LJ can you post it? I remember seeing it in an edit from PC early in the season about a year ago, maybe two.

have you ever thought that since the edits are called "mellow laps" or "chill day" it is the entire vibe of the edit or day rather than the tricks being thrown that are being described by "mellow"?

do you also think anyone cares, even if it's not? it's really not a big deal what people name their edits. i do not judge an edit based on name. i will judge it based on skiing. you can tell when people are within their comfort zone or not.
