i don't know what "real art" is, but i know from experience that the only work that makes people stop and stare is the work that makes people think, either because the artist had a thought going into it and was able to portray it in their work, or because it ignites a thought in the viewer's own mind. you can fancy up your name all you like with all kinds of technicality and originality but in the end it's just going to be a name, the average person isn't going to sit down and think about your name. it transcends all forms of art, but for some reason i'm pretty sure the only niche that really gets that across the board are the tattoo artists.

I agree with you entirely on almost all points. Im just saying hes the first person someone looking into graff sees and sometimes it pays to look deeper becuase his style isnt the end all be all of whats cutting edge or cool.

No ones going to agree on any of this stuff but i can say hes a hell of a lot more famous then ill ever be and prob has more money than ill ever see. Dont listen to me im just drunk as shit and rambling on about painting which used to mean a lot to me but doesnt any more

Yall should just stop bitching and take Banksy for what he is: One of the most original and influencial street artists regardless of what his influences were.
