im amused how they feel they can engage in their military escapades in ivory coast WITHOUT UN APPROVAL, and without no cause at all other than the fact 5 foreigners were murdered. this does not give them the right to send an already poor desolate counry into chaos, and destroy their entire infastructure.

at the same time im amused at how they chastise our liberationof Iraq, when they do virtually the same thing, and then ask us to mop up for them in Ivory coast. how about you send us 10000 troops chirac and we'll help you out in west africa

chirac forced them to have the Marcoussis agreement and that's a shame for democracy: it forces the elected government to include rebels minister. it means: if you want to enter a government, fight against it and kill people!

You can't compare Iraq and Ivory coast. It's not on the same scale... besides, I hate to say this, but who cares? Even if I feel I should care more about Africa I can't bring myself to, it's really the forgotten continent.

the US has done some as well...spread democracy! selectively! (of course the politicians do not say so haha) but yeah...my friend is in the french foreign legions (a pretty much private army of well paid proffesional soldiers from all around the world) and they were engaged in the Ivory Coast conflict for a while too. Fortunately, he has been called out of there (to go to some island in pacific?) oh well...

It wasnt that France didnt want us to go to iraq they just didnt want us uncovering the huge money laundering scheme they had goin on the oil for food program along with Germany. O wait didnt both of them vote not to go to Iraq. I TRULY DONT CARE ABOUT FRANCE AS AN ALLy.
