Full Tilts w/Jester/Griffon Issue?

I have a pair of Griffons on my Iron Maidens and some Full Tilt Hot Doggers... I seem to be getting a lot of pre-release issues. I've been to a shop to have the forward pressure double-checked even though I knew it was right. I know Griffons aren't the worlds greatest binding but they should do the job, I'm only 135 lbs, 293mm BSL, riding a Din of 9.
Release isues seem to be from the toe, it's always when i'm landing foward, slight knuckle on a jump or coming off a rail early or slightly hard... not perfect landings but nothing I haven't skied out of 1000 times on other bindings/markers before I got full tilts (these are new bindings, done 2 days on them with i would guess 4-5 pre-releases). Is there a known interaction issue, is there some setting that needs to be changed?

How old/worn are the full tilts? It might be that the soles are worn which can lead to pre-release issues. Also it might be an issue with the toe piece height. If you clip the boots in with a credit (or any other plastic) card on the afd plate, it should be difficult to pull it out from underneath. These are the only things other than a binding malfunction that i can think of that would affect the release if the forward pressure is right.

they are almost new boots and brand new bindings... i will check the toe height but is there a manual adjust on griffons?

There is no height adjustment.
As much as I shouldn't offer DIN advice, but increasing your DIN by a half each time, to the point where you don't pre-release may solve your issue.
They are after all, a release binding as apposed to a retention binding (FKS/Pivot).

I have a feeling the part of the toe that clips into the toepiece of the binding is either more squared or more rounded than other boots, making them fit less well with griffons.

there does seem to be height adjustment, you can move the afd up and down along a track? I don't remember that being the case with my first generation jesters though, is it new?
If the round/flat toe thing is the case that is a worry though.

also, if the shop only set them to what they're supposed to be they make be wrong, the only way they'll know the forward pressure is correct is if they torque test them, you should be able to tell if the fp is set just by the pressure and how easily the HEEL pulls up when you lift up your heel, not how easily the binding pushes down.

Toe height adjustment is new in the 12/13 Griffons. Get that checked then get a full release test of your setup, no point guessing problems.

I think toe height could be the problem. I did the forward pressure myself and then got it checked at a shop when I started pre-releasing but nobody has adjusted the toe height I don't think. Is it the same rule as Salomon Sth toe height?

Also double post, sorry... do the pre-12/13 jester/griffons have known issues with Full tilts? I was thinking of picking up some 10-11 jesters on the cheap but won't if there is an issue

I prerelease a ton on my barons with slightly worn down FT's, pretty sure the bindings are an early production model. They also move a shit ton on the track, both for/back and side to side. Fuck marker.

i personally have never had a problem with pre releases on my 11/12 bindings best bet is to ask your shop or try to adjust the toe height yourself.

pretty sure i'll pay cash money for STHs on my other pair but I would like to get these working.
On my sth's the toe height rule was 1 piece of paper under the the boot should slide out, 2 should stick (they sent a weird tester thing made of paper to the shop). Is the griffon the same rule or tighter becasue the AFD slides?

Just tight enough to eliminate play.

My dallbellos wobble like shit on my old griffons, i think its cause of the toe wearing out on the boot when hiking and walking on gravel/pavement and shit. They also wobble vertically a bit on my new 12/13 griffons, but i dont get pre release. I didnt know you can adjust the height though, that should solve my problem atleast. But i think its a known issue that full tilts/dalbellos dont fit with some bindings due to toethingy being lower than on other boots.
