Help with dslr's

I am pretty familiar with my friends dslr from filming him (canon t3i) and I want something kind of similar keep in mind I can't spend too much money any suggestions ?

BTW - I've owned a gopro and I'm defiantly ready to get more serious with my filming .... And I might want to get into some stills later ...?

A t2i or t3i kit can be found used for around $450 now, I just saw a t3i kit on my local kijji for $400. Maybe get just the body and a tameron 17-50 f/2.8 for $350-450 or a kit with the 50mm f/1.8 for a little less. You'll most likely end up upgrading to the tameron or another faster standard zoom sooner or later.

I dont know about lenses, all i have is the kit
but the t4i looks so sick, auto focus while filming could be sick or really annoying...

If you buy a t4i you will have a body with no lenses, get a t2i

just to throw this out there I hear a bunch of people talk about Gh2's and similar sounding beasts, I would be interested to hear if they are better than a t2i or what the deal is...

great video performance.

If you dont want video, pick up a used 40d or 50d, excellent cameras that many pros use as there back-up cameras and can be found for cheap. put the rest of your money into one nice lens like a sigma 30mm 1.4

Sorry to offend you, The t4i with the kit refurbished is at his price point, buy just a body and get used glass and it could be even cheaper so I don't really see how that is retarded. He is looking at cameras similar to the t2i and I have heard several people recommend the gh2 over the t2i. I think it could be helpful to look at all the options he has available to him before he makes his decision. i realize that it is a bit more pricy but maybe it would be worth it form him to save up for it. I am sorry to offend you but I feel that two posts that are trying to be helpful are better than one that is trying to be hateful. Again I could be missing something and being a complete idiot but I feel like both my posts were logical even if their syntax was slightly off.

Also its kind of funny how many what camera threads there have been that are EXACTLY like this. "I don't know what I should get, a video camera or a dslr. Is the t4i worth it. They all resolve with get a camcorder or get a dslr and plan to spend more $ and get a tamron 17-50 + tokina. I swear just yesterday there was another thread about having ~$700 to spend and what you should get.

Also, if you don't know what a gh2 is and how its better GOOGLE IT. People have become so goddamn stupid it makes me sad. Do some research before you post a thread

t4i also has video auto focus which is really helpful. I love my T3i but wish I had a 7D just because it is heavier. You really cant go wrong with any canon DSLR

Should I get a t3i? or a t3i? or a t3? how about the nikon D5200? The t4i? D3100?

Literally, so many threadz about camera shit....

But to be on OP's side, NS gives out a lot more research that isn't vague to their questions. He probably just wants to hear professional/advanced videographers tell which camera they would have gone back and gotten if the had a chance to.

Im gonna thread jack alittle bit over here why choose a dslr like a t3i over a camcorder like the panasonicbtm 700 ( im talking only for video here !) that's a question cause im about to buy a tm700 and then i see all these people with Dslr... Do i make a great choice ?
