Alright guys, you might have seen my thread of "Buck for my bone?" If not, I just created it to spread the word of my SEVERELY messed up collar bone. It's so bad I might not be able to do anything rigorous until I get surgery! Anyway, I was just curious, WHAT'S YOUR WORST INJURY? Do you have a pic? Tell the story and post a pic!! Here's mine just in case you didn't see it! Happy and safe shredding!
Shattered my collar bone. That's prolly the worst because I had to have a couple surgeries and get some sweet steezin hardware.
I did put a bunch of hairline fractures going up my femur from top to bottom, a compression fracture in ma back, and some head death from over shooting a booter to complete flat ice. Not simon dumont big, but it was pretty big, and I hit true flat/ice.
I think I'll go with the first since it had surgeries involved. Idk where the hell pics are.
Sitting in hospital right now, have a plate with 15 screws and 3 wires holding my ankle together. Same injury as tanner hall on chads, except only 1 foot and less severe (obv) Doc showed me the x-ray and it looked knarly af. I'll try to get a copy and post a pic later. Fractured calcaneus if anyone's interested
Shiiiiiiiit man, that's a gnarly one, too. How is it doing now? I've been nervous about what the Docs have told me, but I'd rather take it from someone who's been there/done that.
Im alright now thanks, that photo is from a few years back. I was out for about 3-4 months but after that the bone healed good and became even stronger! But im still pissed on the bitch ski crew doctor who inspected me that day and touched my bone almost coming out of my shoulder with the conclusion that it was just a dislocated shoulder, yeah right hah.
I cant find my x-rays but i broke my arm i was in a cast up to my shoulder for a few months. I still finished skiing that run because i didnt realize i broke it. I thought it just hurt.
I've luckily not broken any bones skiing but just my fair share of sprains and bruises. So far this season I've sprained my patellar tendor and separated my AC joint in my shoulder. Also just face planted today on a flat-down bar after I caught an edge.
broke my arm in 1 place and my wrist in 2 (possibly the other way around) doing a backflip at COC I just kind of tomahawked and after stopping I looked up, said I think I broke my arm, and then I tried to lift my arm up and it bent almost 90 degrees. I don't have the x-rays but they are really weird, my arm was bent in a lightning bolt shape.
oh god! these kind of injuries suck the most! Id rather break my arm or something. Ive had 2 surgeries in my left knee because of fucked meniscus. Now I cant ski nearly as hard as I used to, and probably never get a 100% back in the game again.
I havent really had any super serious injuries, im just getting constantly injured. Destroyed my collarbone, not as bad as the OP, but pretty bad. Then I got a bad concussion. Another bad concussion 3 weeks later. Then I hurt my MCL. The two concussions close together were probably the worst.
Bit your tongue?? Damn man, that looks about the size of a quarter! I can't even imagine how bad that must have hurt right when you chomped in to it. Did you have a big ol' gnarly piece of tongue you spit out?
I've actually never had a concussion, but getting your head banged up so bad so close together couldn't have been good at all. I did happen to mess up my knee pretty good last year up on a shitty mountain in Wyoming. The knee has never been the same since :/ And I'm only 22! Oh the things we do for skiing.....
no doubt man. I feel like I never hang out outside anymore. and right now I'm booked for surgery in july (which will almost certainly get bumped up a month or two) so my last year of highschool track is out the window too.
the only upside is that I started playing way more guitar than I ever have and really enjoying it. can't do that with a broken arm.
Been very fortunate that this is my worst one; never broken any bones skiing (knock on wood). Didn't cut any tendons, no damage to the joint, pretty lucky
Damn thats gnarly. Looks exactly like what my friend did when he fell on a rail except it was perfectly across his knee and looked like a smiley face haha
I broke my tibia 13 years ago on christmas eve. Worst ski injury ive had, i remember being on the first pair of 1080's i was 14y/o. They had to cut my ski boot off. I got hypothermia as i was not moving stuck on the hill for some time. They had to rebrake it 2 weeks later as it was christmas eve and the doc on call wasnt focused and set it improperly. I was givin a little moriphine when they rebroke it. fucking sucked hard. I really got to understand the meaning of a din setting afterwards though lol and why you shouldnt crank it to 12 when your 14 and 140pounds.
Great Oden's Raven that shit is gnarly! Femur breaks are never something to take lightly. That must have been one fucking trip of a spill man. How exactly did your leg actually end up breaking when you hit the tree? Thigh hit and you wrapped around?
